Massie: “Congress [could] toss out electoral votes from Maine, Colorado and any other states where Trump is ultimately denied ballot access.”

Ok, Democrats, your move. What say you now?

The 14th Amendment was intended as a tool for the Congress and not the state. This would make a state's declaration by it's Attorney General invalid.

Wow, another dumbass blindingly stupid move by the GOP. Sometimes I swear the GOP are nothing but a bunch of checkers players while the Dems are playing chess.

Now that this idiot has brought this to the fore, the Dems will have a year to strategize around it, maybe even get the laws changed, just as they already did last year with challenging electors. It might even give them further onus to win the House back.

Idiot GOP should have kept this in their back pocket to surprise democrats with if it became necessary.

There is no strategy around it. Republicans will have the House for certification. The only possible way around it would be a Constitutional amendment. That will not happen in less than a year.

That is no argument for this announcement. Right or wrong, it only weakens the GOP's hands by showing their cards when they didn't have to./ Case in point: every time the democrats have won, or tried anything, they come out of left field with it completely catching the GOP by total surprise.

Republicans never learn. It is like they have a guilt complex to not only play fair, totally fair, but to even put themselves at a disadvantage as a demonstration of their fairness! Like they think it will win them friends or approval--- instead, the left just takes a shit on their faces and laughs.

It has to be now. Waiting would be wrong in this case. The idea is fair elections, not taking the White House by obscure legal mechanisms. Nipping this silliness in the bud is far better than the alternative. Plus, the world has never been as dangerous and unstable as it is now. Now we have numerous nuclear adversaries who don't respect or fear the Biden clown show. Who knows what the world in November will look like. Adding something like this at the last second could very well do more harm than good.

SCOTUS needs to sort this out, not Congreff.

I believe the Supreme Court will rule against removing Trump from ballots UNLESS he is actually convicted of something but what happened to states rights?
