GOP leaders to skip Selma event

Yeah, dumbass, but it ain't the same Republicans of today. Democrats evolved; Republicans devolved.

Dem's evolved backwards to big government, forcing Americans into their program or be penalized in Taxes.

Who grew government more - Reagan or Obama?

Obama faced a recession when he was elected. What did he do? He immediately had the federal government spend $1 trillion in stimulus spending. He raised 20 taxes in from the new Health Care Act. He piled new regulations on energy, and stopped new jobs by shutting down drilling in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. He added a new entitlement spending program—Health Care—without reforming any existing programs.

Under Reagan he lowered taxes, reducing the growth of government spending, a stable currency and less regulation created 9.6 million jobs and increased the economy by 18.5 percent.

Obama’s policies of more taxes, more spending, more regulation and loose monetary policies have led to 5.7 million fewer jobs than Reagan created and an economy with growth nearly 50 percent smaller than it could have been.
So I would say Obama has.
Nice try, but Reagan spent more than Obama and grew Government more

Obama's economic recovery has surpassed Reagans

There is no denying that Obama has spent more than any other president in U.S. history. That is a fact, but that also holds true for every president since Herbert Hoover.
Barack Obama: Added $6.167 trillion
George W. Bush: Added $5.849 trillion
Bill Clinton: Added $1.396 trillion
George H.W. Bush: Added $1.554 trillion
Ronald Regan: Added $1.86 trillion
Jimmy Carter: Added $299 billion
Gerald Ford: Added $224 billion
Richard Nixon: Added $121 billion
Lyndon Johnson: Added $42 billion
John Kennedy: Added $23 billion
Dwight Eishower:Added $23 billion
Harry Truman: Added $7 billion
Franklin Roosevelt: Added $236 billion
Herbert Hoover: Added $6 billion
Calvin Coolidge:Subtracted $5 billion from the debt

Notice that is has been Trillions since Regan and it does not matter whether it was a R. or a D.
The worst has been the last Bush and Obama, not Regan.
You're a dishonest person.

If Obama spent that, then you should have no problem listing his spending.

I'll start you off: $867 Billion on the stimulus.

Now tell us the other big spending he did that 'added' the other 5.1 Trillion.

1.2 Trillion in the new Health Care Bill.
Snap went from 39 Billion in 2008 to 82 Billion in 2013.
Attack the person rather than see the truth. Typical.
How about the actual gov. site.
The numbers do not lie.

Cutting the deficit does not stop the debt.
The debt has to be dealt with also.

Well other than not being the party that fought tooth and nail against the struggle for equality, you might have something, but you don't.just more drumming up usless BS.
Republican where there when it happened when it was needed, now the Dems rush to try and take credit for other accomplishments, typical.

Ha...nice try. The GOP's tent seems to be getting smaller. What is wrong with this picture?
Really, reality escapes you ?both houses, and a wave of state and governorship's,ya the rebubs lost big??!!

Can't really blame them is what you posted is true. After what Democrats, the party of slavery, and blacks have said about Republicans I wouldn't go either. (mostly white democrats) Besides I do believe the country is getting race fatigue. That is why every incident that involves a person of color has to be raised to Def Con 5 if not then everyone is bored, even I would think blacks.

its all they have, obama has failed, liberalism has failed, al they have is race and that is failing them too.

The New York Times continues with the false leftwing narrative that only Dems cared about Selma. They cropped George and Laura Bush out of the front page photo of the Selma event. So typical. They have no shame.

NY Times Crops George and Laura Bush Out of Front-Page Photo of Selma Anniversary
You wingnuts are so dumb you don't even know the definition of photo cropping.

they intentionally cut Bush and Laura out of their front page picture. Can you imagine the uproar if some paper cut obama out?

The NY times is nothing but a liberal rag and mouthpiece for the radical left. their credibility is zero.

How ludicrous is this post?? Tim Scott (R) was a co-host of the event. Kevin McCarthy, House majority leader was there. Laura and George Bush were there, even though the White House and the New York Times cropped them from the photo. Many others were there as well.

Dubya was there; when did he convert to a liberal?
Conservatives constantly claim that Bush is not a conservative.

Is that because he was a failure?
He wasn't a fiscal conservative by any stretch. The fail is all yours.
Then why did conservatives nominate him?
I didn't know all Republicans were conservatives. The fail is still all yours.
Did I say that they were? No.

You can continue holding onto that FAIL.

I accept that Bush added his, as I think that you do, but you won't accept Obamas.

You can't blame Republicans for wanting to starve the poor while blaming them for increasing the SNAP program. It is both parties who have increased the SNAP program.
The 2009 stimulus bill scrapped limits on SNAP benefits to adults without children and raised the maximum benefit by 13.6 percent through 2014. According to the Congressional Budget Office, about 20 percent of the $198 billion growth in between 2009 and 2011 can be attributed to the new eligibility standards, and hence will not go away once the economy recovers.
