Google Is Paying Millions to Help You Switch to Solar Power
The search giant is investing $350 million in a fund to cover home solar panel installations
Google is investing $300 million in a fund designed to help people install solar panels on their houses.

The fund is being created by SolarCity, a fast-growing solar energy startup that boasts SpaceX CEO Elon Musk as its chairman. SolarCity has attracted $750 million overall for the fund, which will finance solar panel installations for homeowners in 15 states. Homeowners who install the panels will then pay SolarCity for the electricity they generate.

Not bad for a loser energy source!

Yeah, The Sun eh?
It'll never be any use to anyone.

Idiot. It's not like Google is just footing some bill for fun. They are INVESTING the money and in return they are probably get a ton of equity of energy shell companies or some big corporation in the game.

This is hardly a charity, it's a business transaction to make money, nothing more.

It proves that solar is worth investing in! ;) That is very important in convincing people that bitch about solar because it isn't economical.
What? Who cares about the stock market... it's just a game at this point. And corporate investments into hedge funds and holding companies are almost always illegal, and have no effect on our situation. This transaction has no effect on the solar game unless you're a corporate CEO looking to make bank. And this is coming from someone who thinks that renewable energy needs to be the way asap
