Everyone is asking Israel what the plan is for the “after”. They are asking the wrong people. The Gazans are the only ones who can answer that question. As a collective, they continue to support Hamas; or, as a collective, they rise against Hamas; or, as a collective, they abandon Gaza. No one makes that choice for them. And no one is responsible for the consequences of that choice except them.

But Hamas is not some alien force that captured Gaza. With very few exceptions, the people of Gaza endorse Hamas' policy of endless war with Isreal, so they are not being oppressed by Hamas, they support Hamas. This means there are very, very few innocent Palestinians in Gaza and that there is no feasible political solution to the violence. The war can only end when the so called Palestinians in Gaza no longer have the means to attack Israel and no longer have the ability to try to reacquire them.

Yes. And that is what Hamas has forced Israel to do.

Big problem is where could they go when no surrounding Arab country wants them?

I don't imagine they would be able to go anywhere as a collective. They would have to individually, or in families find someone to take them in.

I don't think Abbas is too happy over thinking where next possible for Gaza Palestinians.
