Now, we can't even DIE if we want to.

THANKS, OBAMA AND PELOSI!!!

Two points, the money for this is coming out of the toll people pay when they cross the bridge, and was approved by an autonomous board that Obama and Pelosi have no control over. Also, if you think this is going to stop people from killing themselves by jumping off the bridge, you are even dumber than the idiots that say it will be impossible to climb out of the net.

That makes you a stupid fucking hack.

Like it or not the pop-culture generation visits the Golden Gate Bridge for the same reason that rednecks attend NASCAR events, for the crashes.

Funny ... in another thread, the RWs are lamenting the suicide of the tee potty nutter who took the photos of Cochran's sick wife. They were gnashing their teeth and whining that suicide isn't the solution.

But here, suddenly, those mean ole lefties won't them off themselves.

And you wonder why the left makes fun of you?

So if a suicidal person see's they can't take the leap off the bridge is this supposed to make them give up the idea? I don't see the point of this other than forcing them to commit suicide somewhere else.

In this issue, I agree with this move to curb these suicides. Sure, people can kill themselves almost anywhere at anytime, but to sit back and do nothing where all this death is concentrated would be wrong. For some time now suicide has been a problem at the GGB, but now even the thought of a large steel net below acts as a dissuasion of sorts. I believe there is compassion in trying to prevent suicides, and I believe that counts for something.

Probably with a gun or a knife, or a rope.

So they are going to build a net to stop suicidal people from jumping off into the sea - what are they going to do to stop them from jumping into traffic?

Hopefully not.
