Why would God care whether a person is in a country that is not their own?

Did God make countries? I don't think so.

Yes, and boundaries have changed every decade, more or less.

So, I doubt God, who created all people, supposedly, cares whether they're in this human constructed country or that one.

But again, religion is very convenient for humans. What they want to be angry about, someone will tell you their religion hates the thing you hate too.

Most religions contain history, prophecy, and religion. History and prophecy aren't religion per se but are still very important to the believer. Where people migrate to isn't religion, it's history and often prophecy.
