What benefits have i received? Ive been collecting social security for 36 years, but paid in for 42. So im just getting back what i paid in. 2 of the programs that truly make the nation great.

Shutdowns 1-8: These were all under Reagan. This was usually because Democrats wanted to spend money on people who were poor or oppressed to make them less so, and Reagan wanted to spend it on guns or missiles. Once it was because Reagan wanted a BBQ.

Shutdown 9: Bush Sr. wanted a lower deficit.

Shutdown 10 & 11: Republicans wanted to balance the budget by charging medicare patients more, Clinton vetoed to prevent it leaving us without a budget and a shut-down government.

Shutdown 12: Republicans tried to stop Obamacare from making sure insurance companies couldn't take your money for decades and then let you die.

Shutdown 13: Trump thinks immigrants who were brought here as children should be deported, Democrats think children shouldn't be held responsible for crimes their parents committed. This was in a budget negotiation because the ball has been dropped on these children since Reagan.

Shutdown 14: Trump wanted more money for his wall grift

This shutdown: The Republicans once again want to make more money from American's healthcare costs, but this time have abandoned the pretense that it's about budget balancing, since they aren't even close to a balanced budget.

Too bad the law isn't written that if the government shuts down, you don't get paid period, and if you go for more than 30 days without having worked, you lose your job period.

For the record,.that $6B request in Trumps first term seems quite reaaonable now doesnt it? Considering how much your open border under Biden has cost local and state taxpayers alone. Also for the record, I vehemently defended that wall as being an excellent investment. A rare expense in government that handsomely saves money in the long run.

Local and State governments got new workers, didn't they? That would pay for it in the long run if they were permitted to work, while awaiting their Court hearing to determine their asylum status....

It costs $70,000 for every 1 immigrant deported now.....that's a lot of money....the homeland security budget is NOW larger than most all nations military defense budgets.... Plus businesses losing workers, stores losing buyers, communities losing pastors, losing teachers, losing Community organizers and helpers, churches losing parishioners, people losing gardeners, painters, baby sitters, neighbors...kids losing parents or grand parents.
