Hold up. Since the govt is gonna be shut down, shouldn't they deduct however many days of taxes they were down?

I would like to see the movement for a constitutional amendment to dock congress critters for the time the government is shut down become successful. They didn't do their job.

ATC are essential workers and their salary is deferred until after the shutdown. They lose nothing.

We are gathering tariff money for the debt. That should cover alot of it minus some $$ for farmrrs and docisl security and medicare.

No one loses a dime. After the shutdown, they get back every penny they would have made.

Too bad the law isn't written that if the government shuts down, you don't get paid period, and if you go for more than 30 days without having worked, you lose your job period.

These shutdowns would get fixed real fast.
