Coca-Cola closing plants in California

And number one in GDP. It has the fifth-largest economy in the world.
Oh there are rich people getting richer there

Tends to happen in fascist run regimes

The poor and middle class keep losing

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. And, of course, California's response will be, "Doesn't matter. We've still got Pepsi". After Pepsi shuts down California's response will be, "Doesn't matter. We've still got RC".
In addition to Coca-Cola, there were two other large manufacturers that closed plants.

Blue Diamond, the almond company, just announced closing its manufacturing plant in Sacramento, at the cost of 600 good jobs.

Frito-Lay, which is a division of Pepsi, closed its Rancho Cucamonga manufacturing plant earlier this week, after 50 years of operation.

And number one in homeless population, and number one in welfare recipients....no doubt number one in fraud.

That's just the small list. The state is slowly turning into a ghost state.

Here’s an interesting thought. Should coke be regulated like tobacco? Tobacco is bad for you because it causes cancer, but sodas are the leading cause of food related obesity in America…

CA has a state debt of $385,000,000,000.00, in 2025 it ran a budget deficit of $45,000,000,000.00. That is illegal, but the government gets away with it by accounting tricks that meet the requirements of the Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment while grossly violating the spirit of the Constitution.
From Wikki:
"
Proposition 58 was a California ballot proposition on the March 2, 2004 ballot. It passed with 4,535,084 (71.2%) votes in favor and 1,841,138 (28.8%) against. It was officially called the California Balanced Budget Act. It requires the state legislature to pass a balanced budget every year, which means that budgeted recurrent expenditure, including repayment of past debt, does not exceed estimated revenue. The act does not require that capital works programs be funded out of current revenues. The California Constitution has always allowed bond issues (state debt) for specified capital works, above a certain value. Bond measures must be approved by a statewide ballot.

The Act created a reserve fund called the Budget Stabilization Account in case of future financial trouble. It also prevented the creation of any future bonds to pay off deficits like that in Proposition 57 (the California Economic Recovery Bond Act). Proposition 58 took effect only because Proposition 57 also passed.

Propositions 57 and 58 were the centerpiece of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's plan to resolve California's budget problems. Schwarzenegger campaigned heavily for both propositions' passage.

While Prop 58 was to provide balanced California budgets, the deficits continued in subsequent years, growing larger over time.[<em><a href="Wikipedia:Citation needed - Wikipedia" title="Wikipedia:Citation needed"><span title="This claim needs references to reliable sources. Does Royal Crown Cola still exist? I haven't seen a bottle in decades.

After more than a century of bottling sodas in Ventura, a historic Coca-Cola manufacturing plant is preparing to shut its doors for good.

Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling announced the Ventura facility will permanently close on July 10, ending a 114-year run in the city and impacting dozens of workers, according to company filings and published reports.

The Ventura closure appears to be part of a broader consolidation effort by Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, which has shuttered multiple California facilities in recent years.

The facility’s final day of operation is scheduled for July 10.

Sad to see this happen. Coca-Cola has shut down other plants in other states. Not quite sure what's going on with them.

and Goodyear is closing its plant in Fayetteville, NC and canning its 1700 workers after having also seriously downsized a plant in Virginia to be airplane tires only now. Maybe what's going on isn't confined to a single manufacturer/producer.

I see the 12 pack cans in Food Lion from time to time crammed toward the end of the aisle with a bunch of other random soda. It isn't especially cheap compared to the usual suspects. Not sure I have seen bottles, but it is possible they still exist. I've just eyeballed them in passing. I personally would love for them to carry Mr. Pibb in bottles but I only see that in cans as well.
