German Tourists Deported From US for Not Booking Hotel

So.............?
My daughter flies here tonight from Hawaii and she never booked any hotel.

Do you know the true story about the 2 teens sent back to Germany? Essentially both had the wrong visa type.

I'd ask the same of you
You made the claim.

If I had a couple of them German beach bunnies coming all the way to the U. S. to live at my house and keep it clean, I'd make d*** sure they had the right visas, wouldn't you?

A hotel booking is not legally required.
You made the claim.

My guy, this thread is about the two female german tourists detained in Hawaii, who names are Lepere and Pohl. This is a different pair.

Wow!

You are correct. I searched on a description of two german females deported for working without a work permit. I never thought there would be more than one pair like that.

This must have been a fad among German girls during the Biden administration. Go to the US on a tourist Visa or no visa at all. then get a higher paying job than females that age could ever get in germany.

As with so much else, during the Biden administration that scam gravy train is over.

I was stationed in germany for about eight years. It is not like the states where teenagers get jobs when they're fifteen or sixteen. women that age only worked in stores or as waitresses. But most of them were working in family owned businesses. Their own families I mean.

Anyway, they admitted that they plan to work:

"These travelers were denied entry after attempting to enter the U.S. under false pretenses. One used a Visitor visa, the other the Visa Waiver Program," CBP Assistant Commissioner Hilton Beckham said in a statement. "Both claimed they were touring California but later admitted they intended to work – something strictly prohibited under U.S. immigration laws for these visas."

No, this is what was stated by CBP. The girls never claimed this, and vehemently denied it. After Hawaii for a few weeks they were heading to California and then Costa Rica. What exactly would be the motive to "work" in Hawaii for a few weeks, even assuming that was a realistic option when they weren't even staying there that long. Furthermore, look at what they're doing, they're flying around the world, staying wherever they land without booking anything ahead of time, which is an even more expensive way to travel than what they're already doing. Do these two sound like they need an under the table summer job for a couple of weeks? None of that makes a lick of sense. I call complete bullshit on CBP.

Yes, who else would know?

Were you suprised by this denial?

Your entire argument is based on assuming these girls are telling the truth, assuming the news outlets you are reading are telling the truth about what they said.

Okay, call bullshit on CBP.

What do you think is their motivation to make up such an elaborate lie about some innocent German chicks? We know why news outlets make up lies about Trump, but where do these girls come in on all this?

Why is this even important to you, when CBP and ICE is dealing with the huge mess that the Autopen Administration left them?

Not at all, if you had some ridiculous claim levied against you, would you not deny it vehemently? If it were true, you'd probably just stay quiet like most guilty people, no?

Well, we know they were traveling the world, because their passports would be stamped by every country they've visited with dates and times. 🤷‍♀️

That's the thing, it's not elaborate at all. Claiming tourists are coming to America to work is a tried and true way to deport anyone who they deem as "suspicious," even if they are not in reality. How exactly would these girls or anyone else visiting prove a negative like that? See how that works?

It's not important to me. I just found your support for the claim that these girls were coming here to work worth arguing over.

I dont' think that is a good point at all. I think innocent or guilty people might vehemently deny accusations, or they might quietly deny accusations - regardless of whether they were true or not.

If anything, the business-like way the CPB explained what happened seems not only credible, but professional.

So they dotted the i's correctly in every country but the U.S.?

Sure, I do. But what was "suspicious" about two adult teenage girls coming for a vacation?

Suppose they were not looking for work, but the CBP found them suspicious for some other reason. Before Team Autopen ran the country, we expected our protective agencies to be suspicious. See something, say something, remember?

Like seeing three middle-eastern looking men taking a long flight within the U.S. with no luggage and wearing heavy coats in the summer. Nothing illegal about that, but reason for suspicion.

If further investigation led to them catching a visa violation, and they got booted for that, I'm fine with it. I was in Frankfurt in the '80's when the Bader-Mainhoff kids started blowing up American service people's cars. At first they did it at night, then they started wiring them to blow when the door was opened. So don't tell me that young Germans can never be a threat.

Now, they have millions of Middle-Eastern immigrants that came through Turkey, so maybe that's the kind of "Germans" they were. Supposedly a story about a couple of German beach bunnies and they don't show a picture? Don't you wonder why not?

Lot's of possiblilities, and I have no idea if anything i just suggested is the exacty way it happened. Whichever it was, I'm not going to second guess the CBP on somehting so minor when we finally have federal agencies doing their jobs instead of obsessing of their TDS 24/7.

Nope. It is in the digital record, but stamps are a romanticism of the past. I've traveled to about 30 countries and I have a total of ONE stamp on my passport--that I asked for. Yukon Territory when I entered from Alaska.

They might, but there's usually a motive attached. What is the motive for these girls who are already back home to continue their charade of concealing their desire to come to the US to "work?"

If anything, the business-like way the CPB explained what happened seems not only credible, but professional.

Typically nothing, but CBP has been handed an order by the Trump Gestapo government to scrutinize all international travelers coming into the US and CBP doesn't seem to mind using whatever mob tactics they can drum up. Apparently not having a hotel booking is grounds to be treated like criminals now.

There's a difference between suspicion and overbearing big government fueled by hysterical xenophobia. What right does CBP have to strip search two barely 18 year old teen girls simply because they didn't book a hotel? These are the stories you expect to hear about travelers visiting some authoritarian shit hole, 1000 out of a 1000 times, but America, the home of "freedom?" And if they can do this for something so minor, what else are they doing that we don't even know about?

America's most wanted!

I've read that Thailand and New Zealand still stamp passports.

Two reasons come to mind quickly: So they can apply for the right visas and come back to the U.S. Because nobody likes to admit they lied.
Typically nothing, but CBP has been handed an order by the Trump Gestapo government to scrutinize all international travelers coming into the US and CBP doesn't seem to mind using whatever mob tactics they can drum up.
That sentence makes it sound like CBP is doing their jobs for a big change from last administration when they were not allowed to. Throwing in the word "mob" doesn't change that.
Apparently not having a hotel booking is grounds to be treated like criminals now.
They were treated like any other undesireable visitor. This probably happens to middle-eastern, African, and Latin Americans far more frequently. Why does the media and you make such a bid deal out of it when it is two German girls?

They have a right to detain people who enter the country without the correct visas and send them home if they raise suspicioun. There is not "right" to a visa.

I don't know, but we are far safer than under the previous aministration's open border days. You advocate returning to that?

Cute.

I'd happily sponsor them to be au pairs for me, and I'd make damn sure their paperwork was correct.

Because our visa regulations even apply to the cute.

“These travelers were denied entry after attempting to enter the US under false pretenses. One used a Visitor visa, the other the Visa Waiver Program,” CBP officials told The Post Monday.

“Both claimed they were touring California but later admitted they intended to work — something strictly prohibited under US immigration laws for these visas.”

Crepitus caught in another lie.

Nice work 👍
