Gas Prices Stil Higher Than When Trump Took Office

Yeah, we didn’t see a huge spike in the summer driving season. Food prices are so high people can’t afford to save for vacations; international tourism is dead thanks to the hyper aggresive ICE presence, consumer confidence is waning;

As a result the price of gas has stayed in the same range through most of the season.
So high gas prices are bad and low gas prices are bad. Got it. Thanks.

We can celebrate that gas prices did not fall below $3/g. That would have been a disaster! :D

If you say so. I was pointing out why there was no rise during the summer driving season.

Again...I was just pointing out why we didn’t see the seasonal bump. Economics is a hard subject but even you should be able to understand supply and demand.

I do. I also understand that the president doesn't control the price of gas. I also understand that some feel a need to spin any economic news as negatively a possible when the other party is in power.

Yet the blob promised to lower gas prices. Was he lying? If so...how do you feel about him lying to you?

This is the part where you rationalize the lie so you can continue worshiping His Orangness.

Spinning a 4 cent reduction in the price of gas when he promised it would be below 2 a gallon doesn’t require much effort.

TDS is boring.

Have a great weekend. Maybe go for a drive since gas is 4 cents cheaper now.

Be sure to turn on the AC for that drive. All that hate you have will really make you hot.

They can charge whatever they want. What are you going to do; not drive your car? Fat chance of that ever happening.

The blob said it was going to be fast.
It's common sense, and everyone knows it. Saying otherwise is to exaggerate. It takes years to survey, request drill rights and permission, to sink a well. the same for pipelines, refineries, shipping contracts, etc...

What we have seen in both 2016 and 2024, as soon as Trump was elected the markets reacted positively, and the surveys measuring optimism rose sharply. It's also true that after Trump's admin implements regulatory changes for construction and energy development, that investors and business owners see now is the time to grow.

It will take time, but the momentum started as soon as everyone realized that a pro-America, pro-private industry president had been elected.

I got gas today for $2.75 which is the current full price. No Food City gas visit discount for me again yet.

God bless you always!!!

Meanwhile back in reality the price of gas is where it was when the blob took office. The market bhasnt noticed

The average price today is $3.20 a gallon:

In February (2 weeeks after Trump took the oath), prices were lower:

We were told--when this was brought up earlier this year--that the “summer driving season” was the cause. Thats over. What is the excuse now?
So you ignore how wars affect oil prices and the CA fuckery that is causing gas prices to increase? So your lazy or dishonest.

Trump’s failure is on many fronts, that’s true.

Wasn’t gas supposed to be less than $2 a gallon by now according to his promises?
He specifically gave that two dollar figure?

Making a comparison between gasoline prices at the end of summer compared to the middle of winter is totally moronic. I'd conclude the same thing if somebody came here today and touted that home heating oil prices have lowered since Trump took office in January as if that made any sort of point.

Let's keep it real. If you at least want to do better at comparing apples to apples, looking at gasoline prices now and what they were a year ago. This would eliminate the seasonal difference.

we ain't paying more .. it will take time for Trumps energy production policies to have an impact ..
Gas prices where i am at have dropped around 10-20 cents a gallon over the year.

I don't believe people were voting for miracles, or blindly believed all the campaign rhetoric. What we voted for was a president who wanted to improve the nation's economy, and end illegal immigration. Trump is accomplishing the immigration part, and I'm I have the patience to wait on the economic rebound, because I see the investments and optimism of the investors and businesses.

Immigration could be accomplished quickly, the economy is not something you can rush. We do not want inflation, deflation or a recession because we went in there with a wrecking ball

I'm seeing the same thing. Prices climbed 40 cents a gallon over the last week or so. Which prompted me to make this thread.
What's been weird here, it's been cheaper on the weekend vs the week.
