You missed the point entirely, as usual.
1. Some investors believe that gamestop (GME) is a viable "brick and mortar" store that owns property and hires real people to work in the store. They bought the stock as an investment.
Then they were idiots. Gamestop is the Blockbuster of the 20's. Remember Blockbuster? They came in, undercut all the family video stores, and then died off themselves when Netflix and other on-line streaming services made getting a movie in your own home cheaper and easier.
Same thing with Gamestop. People can just log onto a game on line, and play against thousands of other players. They really don't need to rent or buy a physical game disc anymore at Gamestop.
2. Some hedge funds believe, like you, that GME is a dying company and want to help it die by selling their stock short, without actually owning the stock, making lots of money by killing GME, kinda like Mitt Romney and Bane Capital did.
Well, not quite. Bain actually owned those companies, and went in and made hard decisions to make them more profitable, and then looted the proceeds. (Hey, remember when you guys all said that made Romney a smart guy and he would make an awesome President?) The hedge funds who sold GME short know it's a dying company, period. They have no interest in reforming it.
3. A small band of RobinHood investors linked up on Reddit to buy GME to drive the stock up to fuck the hedge funds. Surprise, it worked. The hedge funds had to buy GME at any price to close their shorts. FANTASTIC!!
Not really. Pissing away billions of dollars to show rich guys out of spite isn't smart. I mean, heck, I despise the rich, but I'm not throwing away my own money just to spite them.
4. The small investors may not all get their money out, but they don't care. They beat the hedge funds! David beat Goliath and their bought and paid for crooked politicans.
The Hedge funds will still be there, but all these twits on Robin Hood (already kind of a shady operation) threw away their own money for nothing.
5. When Ted Cruz and AOC both support the Reddit Raiders, this could be good! But you are clueless and on the wrong side as usual.
I'm on the side of reality. Right before the Crash of 1929, Joe Kennedy commented, "If you are getting stock tips from the Shoe Shine Boy, it's time to get out." The Hedge funds and wall street pay a lot of very smart people to understand the market.
AOC and Ted Cruz are idiots who got elected to Congress because we don't pay enough attention to who we send to Congress.
That was a great and very easy to understand way of explaining what happened. Thanks!
Actually, it was retarded. But Kyrz is a hard core Trump cultist who looks at the carnage of the past four years and says, "Good Job!"
