Okay, let's get real here. Gamestop is a dying company. Nobody goes to the game store anymore when they can play games on line. So a few amateurs playing games with their stock wasn't going to end well, but leave it to stupid people to do stupid, like they are "sticking it to the man" by artificially propping up their stock.

And then what? Yeah, all these day traders buy Gamestop and they have stock in a company that is still dying.

Actually these gamers did "stick it to the man" . They saw that their favorite brick and mortar store was being used to make money for banks and hedge funds and said fuck em.

Someone caught on that hedge funds were shorting stock in GS. That means they were borrowing stock valued at the current price and had to replace it before some predetermined time. If the stock goes down they buy it at that lower price and replace it and pocket the difference. If it goes UP...and time runs out....they have to buy it at that higher price and they lose the difference.

So GS stock was at 16 when this started and gamers started buying it and drove the price up to 480. The hedge funds ran out of time and had to buy shares back at 480. They lost a fortune. The gamers fucked em.

Now what? The stock is not actually worth 480. It's going to drop. Yea the gamers screwed over the hedge funds but what are the hedge funds going to do now?

They're going to short the stock AGAIN...only now they borrow it at 400 or whatever and replace it with shares bought at 5.

It's all a game
