Zone1 For those who've ever wondered if they can or will be saved....

This is the fundamental difference as I see it between Christianity and Judaism. "Going to Heaven" is not based on how you conduct your life and treat others in Christianity. It is all about belief and total acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. In Judaism, "Going to Heaven" IS based on how you conduct your life and treat others and does not recognize Jesus as God.

Yep.......although you still need to do the good works (living and treating others well),

IMHO, it is both, faith and works......same as the importance of both the Old and New Testaments.

Both the Old Testament and Faith is the foundation of our belief, while works and the New Testament is the building upon that foundation.

You can't have one without the other if you are to have a full relationship with Him. For how strong can a house be to withstand the winds of the world, if it doesn't have a strong foundation.......and what good is a foundation left to itself?

Didn't expect you to take the high road
I've always been on the high road but you've never paid attention. You've let your imagination run free instead. Pay attention now. God gives everyone the opportunity to enter heaven no matter what faith or church they belong. Read. Understand. Learn.

Yes, everyone has the opportunity to be saved because the offer of Jesus Christ is to all.

Faith alone doesn't save. What one put's their faith in is critical. The faith of the Muslim, or Buddhist or Hindu, doesn't get them to heaven. Only faith in the true God counts.

And faith in Jesus Christ is the only faith in the true God. (Acts 4:12) "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

:blowpop:What a load of rubbish.

Oh gee, your opinion of what the Bible says really changes it. I'm so worried because you disagree with the Bible. Your words are so weighty as to affect what the Bible says. Your words are greater than the Word of God. NOT!

The fact is, your words mean nothing. They change nothing. The Bible remains the Word of God no matter what you say or do. You can't do anything to change it.

Just like you can't put faith in anything else than Jesus Christ and go to heaven. You don't have to like it. You can whine, and complain all you want. But you can't change it.

It doesn't? Let's see ..... God creates life and makes the rules. Then comes Jesus [a long time afterwards] and tells God to take a hike so he can really change everything. This is what the Three Wise Men think about that ➡️ :laughing0301::laughing0301::laughing0301: ⬅️

Good grief!
This what having a opinion without knowing anything looks like

They wanted to use threats of eternal damnation to force obedience. If its such a great way to believe why do you need a threat?

I don't understand this at all. Not even a little bit.

From a religion standpoint: I'm not at threatened by Odin because I don't believe this is true or real. Same for Allah, Buddha, etc.

From a practical standpoint: if a 40 pound preschooler threatens to rob a bank I'm also not intimidated because I do not believe he has the capacity to even try to do this.

In short nothing you believe is false can truly threaten you.

What is the purpose of Hell? Its not in the Old Testament. If you dont come to Jesus you will burn in hell. Does that sound like a threat? Come on this is common sense

Sure it is. Break this common sense: You can't be threatened by what you know is false.

If a small child says to me, "Don't leave the house today! I had a dream that a giant snake that swallows cars is loose in our town!"

....I'm leaving the house. I'm not threatened. Because I don't believe it.

Closer to the point: If a Muslim tells me I must convert to Islam or go to hell, great, I don't believe it. It's not threatening to me. Period, end of story

Youre only talking about yourself. The purpose for Hell a devil and original sin was to force obedience and it worked. Millions did believe it. ITs not about what you or I believe

ITs not about what you believe its about what millions of people did believe

Well since I'm not talking about you, I guess you are threatened by all sorts of things you don't believe to be true. Aren't you a psychologist? Isn't this the very definition of insanity?

Yes, they BELIEVED it. I know in your religion of rule-following, it's probably difficult to wrap your head around saving grace, unearned and unmerited. But a lot of us find it to be the most beautiful of all ideals.

I've said this forever. I've had to deal whit this whining from Jews who cry because I tell them if they don't accept Christ's sacrifice they will not receive Eternal Life in His Father's Kingdom. Yes they don't believe Jesus speaks for the Father. Yet stating this fundamental Christian fact bothers them this much.

Jewish superstition doesn't affect my beliefs. Neither does Muslim. Neither does atheistic beliefs

No God who is not God can BE....God. That seems obvious but it's not to so many people.

A Jewish God is not a just god. He just waves away sin to accept people into Heaven apparently, which makes him unholy and unjust.

I don't believe in a god who is not holy and just.

Yes, I learned that well before my reached double digits. I have explained this to you again in my last few points, and you have still yet to learn. If you want someone to argue this point with you, it's not me--or any Catholic/Orthodox.

Now that is a clean-cut explanation. But I am sure they are confused now and will twist themselves into pretzels trying to justify fire and brimstone in Hell. :cuckoo:
