“Inflation is the bane of our existence. Inflation is mostly in food and in gasoline, at the pump,” Biden said Wednesday in an interview with ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

In many places around the country, Americans would differ, and say that HOUSING RENTS are by far, the worst of all the inflation. Reports from studies say that housing rents in Florida (2nd worst nationwide) have jumped 29% from March 2021 to March 2022. Renters in various Florida cities however, are commonly seeing rental rates skyrocketing to 3 TIMES what they were just recently.

This is on top of the fact that for almost all Americans, housing is our most expensive, constantly ongoing expense, involving much larger payouts of money than anything else. It's kind of surprising that when talking about inflation, housing does not get as much notation as food, gas and other items.

How is the Fed Govt responsible for the price of rent?

I'm sorry, what exactly would like him to do about it? Rents are a function of supply/demand for housing in a particular part of the country.
Inflation is making those rent amounts higher.

Don't be shy. Step up and give us your plan.

Rising rents are due to a widening gap between demand and supply.
Meanwhile, the nationwide supply of new rental units rose by just 330,000. Supply chain issues, global material shortages, and difficulties in the labor market hamper the ability to build new units to keep up with increased demand. This shortfall only exacerbates longer-term deficits in the U.S. housing market, which, according to Yardi Matrix, is between 2 and 5 million housing units short of its population's needs. The nation is in the midst of a deepening housing crisis.

The result is rising rents in every state in the country.

According to The Washington Post, "The number of U.S. households grew by 1.48 million last year."
Well, that's interesting- just about the same amount that the Border Patrol says was Biden's migrants (you know, the ones wearing Biden T-shirts, and being airlifted into US cities.)

If you read Post # 5 , and its links (thoroughly), you can easily see that what Biden could do is the same thing that Trump and Eisenhower did, Deport 2 million illegal aliens (that he just let in), and alleviate the crunch on the housing market, forcing rents to return to their pre-massive in-migration levels.

Another thing he could do is write an EO, or implore Congress to pass rent control legislation, retroactive to 2017, and the sign the bill.

No evidence undocumented immigrants are contributing to the rise in rent. Supply...Demand. Inflation is exacerbating it.

EO, Rent control?? LOL. I can just picture all the "SOCIALISM" arguments being thrown about.

Affordable housing. That's your only ticket here. And that..has to be built by contractors. That can't be mandated by the government.
They can provide incentives for private contractors to build affordable housing.

You have it backwards the illegal alien influx (2 million/yr) is what's CAUSING the inflation (at least in the housing market it is).

Call rent control whatever you want - form follows function, and the function is to restore normal rents, where long time renters can live in the same apartments they've been living in for 25 years, instead of Biden's migrants moving into those apartments, who have been in the country for 3 days. (many of whom came in unvetted for criminal record, Covid, terrorist watch lists, etc)

Incentives$$$$$$$$$ ? Affordable housing certainly is needed , but as long as Biden continues the migration wave, the problem will perpetuate, and why should the US taxpayer pick up the tab for Biden's recklessness ?

So, do tell what is the Fed Govt's responsibility when it comes to building homes/apartments?
Federal governments # 1 responsibilty is similar to my display name in this forum >> PROTECTION of the people. Many people think of this as only the military, but it really covers other things too, like pandemics, crime, and economic welfare. (housing)

Building affordable housing is like one person bailing water OUT of a sinking boat, while another person keeps pouring more water into it.
