Florist Sued for Refusing Service to Gay Couple Pens Defiant Letter Rejecting Gov’t Settlement Offer

Lol. Follow the law or go to jail Fatty. I can't believe that I had to tell you that

Not if the law violates our rights. I'm not at all surprised I had to tell you that.

No American is obligated to follow unjust laws.
.

True- but American's who dont' follow the law by calling them unjust can look forward to going to jail.

Just look at those who claim the income tax is 'unjust'.

So, are you implying someone who 'discriminates' against a gay couple based on their religious beliefs should be sent to jail?
\.

No.

No.

Then why is it so hard for you to accept that there are religious business owners who would much rather not serve people who engage in practices they deem sacrilegious?

You have the right to keep Homosexual's out of your church, but not your business.

I am an American Scamp... I have the right to do business with anyone I want... and to not do business with anyone I do not want.

Because that is my right, I do not ask your permission to exercise it... and I will not consent to any would-be authority who presumes to require I must.
How did that work out for the lunch counters at Woolworth's?

Worked out great. Why do ya ask?
Didn't those lunch counters operate under the same practice and attitude you describe? They did not want to associate with " Colored Folk" and the law changed that.

This woman does not want to associate with Homosexuals. And the law will change that all over the Land of the Free.

But what about PA laws? Churches are open to the public are they not? Why the exception?

Do you see the paradox here? If people in the church can allow anyone they choose into the sanctuary, so too can a deeply religious business owner serve whom he chooses to come into his establishment. Logic.
Let's say then that you can keep Homosexuals out of your congregation, but not your business.

How could she not be associating with gays when she has been associating with these very same gays for nine years?

Those lunch counters were actually restricted by law. How about you learn up on this before you post? The law was you couldn't serve blacks at the counter. Pay attention.

Nice catch!

The truth is that this woman never refused to sell anything to gays. It's not the lunchcounter where they couldn't sit and order. Saying anything else is dishonest. Maybe liberals just have to be dishonest. What she refused was a design service. The judge felt that fulfilling flowers orders wasn't enough. Gays had a civil right to her artistry. This can only happen in an oppressive and totalitarian government.

Loss of artistic freedom happens in tyrannies.

But the PA laws! Don't they apply to everyone? So, this is the crux of your argument, and it falls flat at this juncture. If one can, but the other can't, it is deemed a double standard. Think about it.

Private, Private open to the Public, and Public. Learn how the rules they follow are different.

Net result from this lawsuit against Christians is gays will continue to be discriminated against; they just won't be able to prove it.

Exactly. Christians will just limit what services are offered to the public while still performing those services by private arrangement.

And when they cheat, and lie, we will be more than happy to fine them, jail them, and take over their functions. Carry on.

I have a mechanic that does that. He had so much trouble with black customers that he just decided it wasn't worth his time to fight with them any more. He sold his shop and rents it back by the hour. He does no advertising, has no business license, is very choosy about what customers he takes on. He's always busy and has no more headaches.

Since what he is doing is illegal, I can't want to meet him.

Well you can't. If services aren't offered to the public they just aren't offered to the public. There's no restraining order preventing the baker or florist from baking cakes or making floral arrangements. If these services are offered to the public then gays as part of the public has to be served everything that's offered. Without the offer there is no obligation.

I went through this so I know. It's why I won while the florist and baker lost. The two lesbians that sued me could never prove that I offered anything to the public. They proved that I was an artist. They proved that I painted commissioned works. What they could not prove was that I offered anything to the public. So they lost.

I am untouchable. In time every Christian who wants it will be untouchable too.

It's not illegal. It is absolutely legal.

The lesbos sued my business too but that got dismissed in the first ten minutes.

No business license but he works it like a business, and probably doesn't accurately report the income? Illegal. As for you, you aren't open to the public so you skate by but be careful, we're watching.
