Florist Sued for Refusing Service to Gay Couple Pens Defiant Letter Rejecting Gov’t Settlement Offer

Lying is what gets you. The ACLU will send in ringers. What you have to do is stop all advertising. Everyone that walks through the door is told that you no longer offers the service. Then you can vet potential customers and take only personal recommendations.

He has no problem with lying, he's a Christian.

Net result from this lawsuit against Christians is gays will continue to be discriminated against; they just won't be able to prove it.
Exactly. Christians will just limit what services are offered to the public while still performing those services by private arrangement.
And when they cheat, and lie, we will be more than happy to fine them, jail them, and take over their functions. Carry on.
Well you can't. If services aren't offered to the public they just aren't offered to the public. There's no restraining order preventing the baker or florist from baking cakes or making floral arrangements. If these services are offered to the public then gays as part of the public has to be served everything that's offered. Without the offer there is no obligation.

I went through this so I know. It's why I won while the florist and baker lost. The two lesbians that sued me could never prove that I offered anything to the public. They proved that I was an artist. They proved that I painted commissioned works. What they could not prove was that I offered anything to the public. So they lost.

I am untouchable. In time every Christian who wants it will be untouchable too.
I've touched on this before that Christians need to be more shrewd instead of looking for a hill to die on. For instance, if I had a bakery that offered customized wedding cakes and Butch and Dike want me to do a cake for their queer "wedding", I can say we're booked solid, supplies are on back order, we're no longer offering that service, or I'm suffering from arthritis and can't design the cake. Yeah, let's see them prove my hand doesn't hurt. The racists of the 1960's who didn't want to serve black customers found many creative ways not to do it. It's a tremendous irony that 50 years later, they have some valuable lessons to teach Christians today on how to get around stupid laws.
So you'd lie? How very moral. Be sure to mention that to Jesus.
Yes, Christians lied all the time to protect Jews from you Nazis. It isn't always wrong. Today evil is rearing its ugly head so Christians will be forced to lie again to avoid the two other alternatives.

Half the service providers in Beverly Hills are people no one ever heard of. They are so exclusive you have to know the guy who knows the guy then give the secret password.

That's even better. The point is Christians need to stop falling on their sword and approach this more intelligently.

Tell me, if someone holds a gun to your head and says tell me the truth, do you believe in Jesus, and if you do I'm going to shoot you, should you lie? Lies, lies, lies, I won't bother quoting the ten commandments as they mean nothing to you, obviously.

And this isn't saving Jews, this is just you bearing False Witness.

Yes, the Christians winning, by lying.

Immigrants have been using these techniques for years.

The little bakery in Westwood that doesn't make wedding cakes made my friend's wedding cake. The owner and my friend go to the same mosque and my friend asked in farsi.

Lying doesn't work. It's being creative with the truth.

If someone asked me if I painted commissioned work I would truthfully say that I do not solicit commissions nor advertise that I am available for commissions.

All true.

But it may become necessary to lie and that's ok too. Like I said, let's see them prove that the cake artist's hand doesn't hurt. You can also keep the requisite supplies intentionally limited so as to claim credibly that you don't have it on hand.

The larger point is we Christians have had to operate underground before when persecution was rampant. And anyone who has lived through such times, like in WW2 Europe, knows that survival means deceiving the powers that be. As we approach the last days, and we are, things will swing full circle, as prophesied, nobody could buy or sell without the mark of perdition. What's happening right now is just the beginning and we need more survivors and fewer martyrs.

lol. she might as well just close up shop, she hasn't a leg to stand on.

And gays need to understand that yes....... they're not normal at all... Your victories ring hollow. Everyone knows the marriage is a charade. We understand the the X and Y chromosomes determined who was 'Mom' and who was 'Dad'

Again, take your hollow victory of calling your union marriage. The rest of us will continue to shake our heads and wonder where your parents went wrong. The way I see it, homo's who want to marry ....... Well..... Ok..... Here's your marriage liscense that you stick next to the worthless trophies you got in little league for suckling balls at short stop.

You didn't deserve that trophy then either....

If the photographer offered to photograph orgies then it would be discrimination if he refused to photograph one orgy simply because it was a Christian or homosexual orgy.

But as long as the photographer did not offer photography of orgies or of any other pornography, there is no violation.

You folks seem to not quite understand how this works.
I wonder what they think goes on at a same sex wedding?

I've been to two of them, both Lesbian weddings. So far as I could tell, they were typical weddings. One had a band, so I enjoyed it better than the other that had a DJ. the one with the DJ had better food.

But nothing about the affairs was the least bit torrid or shocking.

That's not the point. The point is that to us, it's a sacred ritual.

And we don't have to participate in farces that demean and marginalize it.
Then RSVP 'no'.

But you don't have the right to disrupt it.

And chances are, few people would attend your peculiar church that preaches hatred against strangers.

Er..they didn't disrupt it. They tried to opt out of participating. But dumbass wahoo queers want them to be FORCED to participate.

When Religious Liberty Was Used To Justify Racism Instead Of Homophobia ThinkProgress

You're no different than a racist over using the n word.
She's really no different than an Islamic terrorist. She and they both use their religion to justify bad behavior.

What about boycotts based on protected classes? Shouldn't those be outlawed as well?

Why do you believe that law trumps someone's religious beliefs? If I were a lawmaker, for instance, and I created introduce a law which directly flew in the face of your beliefs, would you sit there and take it?

I would sort of depend on what the law was and what the belief was.

For instance, a law that said I can't smoke marijuana or perform animal sacrifices most people would consider pretty reasonable. Unless you are a Rastafarian or a Sanitarian.

Again. The state doesn't dictate what constitutes *religion* and what doesn't. This is why we told you idiots to call it a union, not a marriage.

Because marriage is a sacrament, and as such, we are compelled to treat it as such.

Which means homo weddings are an abomination and we can't participate in them in any way, shape or form.

But here's the thing.

The bible also demands that women be virgins on their wedding day.

If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her ... and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate.... But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you .-- Deuteronomy 22:13-22

Yet I am willing to be that these same florists who won't do a gay wedding have no problem doing weddings for women who aren't virgins, who have been living with their boyfriends before marriage.

Lol. Follow the law or go to jail Fatty. I can't believe that I had to tell you that

Not if the law violates our rights. I'm not at all surprised I had to tell you that.
You have the right to keep Homosexual's out of your church, but not your business.

But what about PA laws? Churches are open to the public are they not? Why the exception?

Do you see the paradox here? If people in the church can allow anyone they choose into the sanctuary, so too can a deeply religious business owner serve whom he chooses to come into his establishment. Logic.
Let's say then that you can keep Homosexuals out of your congregation, but not your business.

But the PA laws! Don't they apply to everyone? So, this is the crux of your argument, and it falls flat at this juncture. If one can, but the other can't, it is deemed a double standard. Think about it.
A church congregation plays by its own rules. That church may be governed by a synod or bishop or pontiff, but not by secular law in America.

A business on the other hand, muast adhere to the law of the land. The dogma of a particular congregation does not over rule secular laws, especially in a public business setting.
