Zone1 Florida School Tells "others" to leave

NBC NEWS 8/19/22

A religious school in Florida says it will refer to students only by their biological sex, while pupils who are gay, transgender or gender nonconforming "will be asked to leave the school immediately."

NBC News obtained an email from Grace Christian School in Valrico, about 20 miles east of Tampa, sent before the beginning of the school year by Administrator Barry McKeen.

The subject line of the email reads: "Important School Policy Point of Emphasis. ... Please Read."

The June 6 correspondence to parents cited scripture and said that students will be referred to by the "gender on their birth certificates" during the school year beginning this month. While the email refers to "biological gender," the National Institute of Health defines "gender" as a social construct, as opposed to "sex," which is the biological difference between females and males.

"We believe that God created mankind in His image: male (man) and female (woman), sexually different but with equal dignity," the email said.

"Therefore, one's biological sex must be affirmed and no attempts should be made to physically change, alter, or disagree with one's biological gender — including, but not limited to, elective sex reassignment, transvestite, transgender, or non-binary gender fluid acts of conduct (Genesis 1:26-28). Students in school will be referred to by the gender on their birth certificate and be referenced in name in the same fashion."

It continued: "We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, transgender identity/lifestyle, self-identification, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful in the sight of God and the church (Genesis 2:24; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; I Corinthians 5:1; I Corinthians 6:9; I Thessalonians 4:2-7)."

"Students who are found participating in these lifestyles will be asked to leave the school immediately," the email said.

Points of interest here:

1. WHY NOW? Surely the administrators of this school aren't brain dead enough think NOW is the only time these people have been going to this school. I assume the idiots running this school have decided to jump into the hate propaganda of the currtent political circus going on.

2. Most of these religiously managed schools are pretty quiet and focus on actual LEARNING, not BRAINWASHING the kids with current propaganda and political lies. There was NO mention of any PROBLEMS that have arisen from the LBGTMNOP kids going to this school. So again.......WHY NOW??

3. I'm not religious, but this is ignorant and stupid. Why not just develop a class to teach these kids the REALITIES of being biological males and females, and anything else is just a mask or coverup. Not all of us like how we were born, but help in understanding why we have to live with it, and that they are ONLY KIDS and don't know anything about the REAL world or reality as living as an adult is advantageous, to say the least.

4. Again, these are just KIDS. All they know is what BS and lies the lying media pumps out.
When I was young, I was told its "so easy" to be a good person, get a job, save your money, and live the way you want to live. NOTHING BUT LIES! We weren't told anything about the perils of adulthood, or the pain and suffering that comes along with it.

In fact, when I was a kid, we weren't even allowed to ask "adult questions", as we would "find out when we got older"......well, by then it was FAR TOO LATE!! A heads up when we were young would have been something we could have USED in our lives. So why not give these kids a "heads up" instead of ostracizing them?
Sounds like a win for those leaving.

Isn't this discrimination?

Like what if the school disallowed someone for being Black,Latino or Asian?
No.

This manifestation of rightwing bigotry and hate is protected by the First Amendment right to freedom of association (see BSA v. Dale 2000)).

Public accommodations laws concern businesses open to the general public, not religious schools.

They did not "define" gender that way, they re-defined gender to suit themselves. They are welcome to do that so others know that they don't mean the same thing as the traditional definition. But nobody put the NIH in charge of defining words for that school.

You don't like it, don't send your kids to that school. I'm pro-choice.

It would be even more odd to put every gay student into a box and insist they act within those parameters. "Transition" students are being even more boxed in with chemical castrations and surgeries.

Not all gay people insist on same sex only. Some marry the opposite sex because they want to experience and raise children in a traditional environment. Let us not stereotype gay people.
Wrong.

One’s biology does not dictate his gender; individuals have the right of self-determination and self-expression, to identity and present oneself to society as he sees fit.

The authoritarian Christian right seeks to compel conformity and punish dissent; the right’s unwarranted hostility toward gay and transgender Americans is the consequence of ignorance and fear, which lead to manifestations of hate – such as this school’s efforts to discriminate against and disadvantage gay and transgender students.

The irony, of course, is that the great majority of gay and transgender Americans are Christian – an even greater majority are persons of faith.

There’s nothing in Christian doctrine or dogma that compels the condemnation of being gay or transgender.

This isn’t about religious faith or liberty – this is about rightwing fear, ignorance, bigotry, and hate.

The school is not punishing anyone. It states its focus, a way of living life, and that focus and way of living may not be suited to all.

Do you hold the belief that all schools should accommodate all students? What is your own criteria for a school?

Obviously. Jesus would have said "repent and sin no more". To those that refused he would have said "get thee behind me, Satan". Jesus had no patience with the unrepentent.

So sayeth EvilCat.

Every single person sitting in a pew is still a sinner.

Such is the hateful, bigoted religious right.
No such is the LEFT.........that's always sticking their noses up the keysters of everyone else. Private means Private. Go pay for your own school and you can establish the curriculum. But......if you are like most liberals you enjoy spending money....OP money, "other peoples" money. Always complaining about taxes and how little the evil rich pay.............when in reality the vast majority of US Citizens that pay little to no taxes vote DEMOCRAT.
