The reason for that is because a “sick in” or going on strike in that manner is illegal. When they do go on strike, or quit, it will be much bigger and “official”.

And it also just coincidentally happened the same week that Washington State Ferries lost so much staff that they cancelled 140 sailings. Similar story for Amtrak. And I recall hearing a couple more such stories but don't have the time right now to go and look up what companies they were who experienced the same thing.

I'll talk to you when the school districts which employ three of my relatives (who will not take the jab) as bus drivers start losing their routes and parents have to start driving their kids to school. Districts which are woefully short of drivers to begin with! Will your children/grandchildren make it to school without any parents having to rearrange their schedules?

Characterize it however you want but most places have systems set up based on the situations in their communities. When cases rise and hospitals fill then actions need to be taken and that’s how most places operate independent of political leadership. Of course there are the kooks on both sides
