Florida becomes first state to end all vaccine mandates

Yeah, it is so terrible that wealthy retirees from blue states flock there in retirement. They want to spend their retirement years in a terrible place. Who doesn't?

The reality is that they can't wait to get out of crowded, crime infested cities.
Sure, living in their exclusive little gated communities where they can make whatever rules they want pay little to no state taxes.

But the people of Florida constantly prove themselves to be absolutely crazy.

It's where Yankees fly to in the winter.

Compare that to COVID and also realise we still don't really know the long term effects of COVID...

Nor do we know the long term effects of the vaccine. Also, many who got the vaccine still got COVID so would still likely suffer the long term effects of that as well.

Doctors I know stopped recommending the COVID vaccine quite some time ago except in extreme cases.

But I thought those high state taxes gave these blue areas big advantages? Why on earth would they wish to forgo those advantages just to avoid some state taxes? Could it be, possibly, that they recognize that they are getting ripped off? Florida has no state income tax.

They do! But those advantages are not valuable to wealthy retirees.

Good schools, good universities, good social safety nets, good public transportation, good infrastructure, thriving innovative economies. These are all beneficial to people who are working, raising families and generating wealth and value.

Wealthy retirees have fully extracted their value from this system and then leave to Florida where they have a better chance at preserving their wealth now that they no longer benefit from it.

The concept of pay it forward doesn't really resonate with these people.

The fact that the covid SHOTS are still described as VACCINES is ******* INFURIATING.

Wealthy individuals often send their kids to private schools to avoid these "good" schools you speak of, including private universities. Public transportation isn't necessary either as they would prefer to drive or be driven. The infrastructure is actually worse in these places than in many places with far lower state income tax. Also, keep in min that it isn't just retirees that have figured it out, many still working who can work from home have moved out because they recognize the benefits. I sincerely hope that there are more like you who like it in places like that. My area is being overrun and the last thing I want is for their politics to screw up where I live and make it just like where they escaped.

Good school systems still need to be paid for.

Florida has the most regressive tax system in the country. It’s all about extracting wealth and letting everything else go to hell.

Yes they were. WTF is wrong with you? The CDC was trying to mandate Covid shots for kids under 5.

How do you function being this ******* stupid.
Vaccine mandates are a State by State thing. The feds has limited abilities to mandate them.

Even as US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has ramped up a hostile takeover of federal vaccine policy, Florida on Wednesday took an unprecedented step: It became the first state to move to eliminate all vaccine requirements.

I can see this as putting other people in danger. Should vaccines be mandated or not? That is the question.
LOL the only "danger" is that politicians are going to lose some control, and you know they HATE that.

And yet people of your poltical persuasion continue to move to that hell hole.

Seriously, you don't have a clue what you are talking about. Yes, there are some bad areas in Florida for sure, but there are also areas much nicer than any that can be found in large, heavily congested urban areas where taxes are exorbitant, trash is in the street and crime is rampant. Did I mention that the weather sucks in many of them as well?

The mRNA vaccines were, and the medical community lost their trustworthiness over them.

NOPE. It's not the safe and effective vaccines that are the problem for medical community.

It's the cranks and nutbags that now have platforms like Facebook to suck people into their bullshit.

The school age ones.
The reality is that all illegals were OFFERED vaccinations upon entry but were not required to get vaccinations whereas US Citizens had their jobs threatened if they didn’t get vaccinated.

People who have acquired wealth and seek to hoard it are making a rational economic decision.

I don’t think we agree on what makes a place desirable to live. We can start there. I don’t want to live in sterile, manufactured, cultureless areas.

I also wouldn’t want to live in a swamp. That feels gross to me.

Traditional vaccines have decades of data to show they are safe, i.e. the risk is outweighed by the rewards.

mRNA tech is too new for that.

But keep just saying "shut up" to people voicing concerns instead of addressing the concerns. It just shows your sides unearned hubris and lack of awareness of how things actually work.
