HHS was started in 1953. We didnt have a physician in that post until 85. Otis Bowen is the first HHS secretary who had anything to do with the health system at all who was the Head of HHS.

There have been 5 lawyers (including RFK jr) and 3 doctors who have been the head of HHS. There have been 26 heads of HHS. 90% of them had zero background in public health.

Measles, Chicken Pox, Mumps, are all nuisance diseases. There is little to no reason to vaccinate against them. At the time the MMR vaccine became widely used deaths from Measles had dropped over 90% and remember at that time huge swaths of the US were still very rural with poor sanitation, and health care etc. There's no reason to believe that they number wouldnt have continued to drop moving forward without the vaccine. No one dies of chicken pox.

Blaming all opposition to these insane ideas about vaccines on "hatred for RFK" is the height of stupidity, but stupidity is all that MAGA has.

When I was a child, 1/3 of all children died before reaching adulthood. Many children grew up with braces from polio, or heart conditions from scarlet fever. I was more afraid of ending up with a disability than I was of death. I wasn't allowed to go to the swimming pool for fear of "catching polio".

There were schools for the deaf and schools for the blind because so many children were exposed to these diseases in the womb. I remember running out of an apartment viewing when the woman apologized for the mess, because her child was sick with rubella. I was pregnant at the time and rubella exposure could have seriously harmed my unborn baby,

By the time my children were born, none of these things were a worry - because of vaccines. Children weren't dying from infectious diseases, or being left with disabilities. Nobody grew up with polio braces. The schools for the blind and the deaf closed in 1970. It's rare for a child to die before reaching adulthood.

This notion that vaccines are dangerous is insanity. Generations of children growing up say otherwise.

No on dies of chickenpox. The death rate of measles was already in massive decline (dropped 90%) which was due to better hygiene, sanitation and access to medical care. There's no evidence or reason that trend wouldnt have continued. No one actually dies of measles; you die of pneumonia caused by having measles. I had all 3, chicken pox twice (my brother was much younger than me so I go a light case when he got it) and it was so bad that I cant remember it. Every little inconvenience isn't a life altering trauma.

Having Chicken pox doesn’t lead to Shingles. Everyone has the chickenpox virus in their body the vaccine just suppresses it.
