...in its ability to bring together different people who might otherwise run in separate circles. Barriers of race, religion, or socio-economic standing that are so often considered insurmountable, vanish into the nothingness they should always be considered when people gather together in sport. I see it every day, and it is never mentioned because it never needs to be.

Sports, at any level, can bring folks together. I played numerous sports all throughout grammar/high-school. I made friends with people I would have likely not spoken to as a result.
