In my hundreds of hours of research into California history, I have never read of anything like this. While Monterey was the capitol of Spanish and Mexican California, very little is written about the flora and fauna of the region. In my time stationed there, I was always fascinated by the sea otters and their dining manners and always enjoyed watching the sea lions, elephant seals, and harbor seals in the area.
What a great experience it would be to actually watch this whale and sea lion feeding!
