Remember when Dems won the 2023 special elections and said it was a harbinger for 2024?

Yeah, me too.

Republicans just no longer turn out in special elections - which used to be indicative of Democrat voters.

But as many voters who would have been Dem on paper years ago (young, working class, minority etc.) begin to vote MAGA - the Republicans have also been cursed with their voting habits.

It is what it is.

Voter turnout here has been better than during the presidential election last November here in the northern county in the district. We are an almost entirely red county. The only blue voters come from Nashville. There is no way we are letting a liberal Democrat take a red seat away.

The party in power always gets the blame when voters are unhappy, even if they did not cause the issue.
