FDR cow towed to Stalin and the Russians.

He gave them East Germany, Poland, and the other Eastern European countries.

He kept saying, "Good ole Joe."

FDR was a babe in a forest of haters.

Are you trying to say kowtow?
If ever in doubt look shit up before propagating ignorance.
Why did Stalin insist that we land at Normandy at the cost of many many US soldiers?
Who liberated Europe???????

Who liberated Europe? That would be mostly the Russians.

FDR fought a perfect strategy in WWII that minimized US deaths

1. He held back our forces in Europe and made the Soviets do most of the fighting and dying

2. He approved the Manhattan Project which created the bomb to end the war in the Pacific without US invasion

But with zero thought to the post war situation.

The postwar situation where the US emerged with the worlds strongest economy and a military Super Power?

And with the soviet ruling a commie alliance that stretched from the Elbe to South China Sea.

Not exactly a great End Game there.

The Soviets paid 20 million lives for that territory
What do you propose FDR should have done to remove the Red Army?

My advice, if he had asked, would have been to declare the Soviets cobelligerents, not allies.

That would have made it clearer to the people that the Soviets were not friends. And no lend lease for them.

When the war ended, with the nuking of Berlin, the Iron Curtain would have ended up being a few miles outside of Moscow. The Cold War would have been like a still breeze, instead of 80 years of nuclear terror.

Why did you post this which completely ignores reality?

The US back then was war weary and not the super power it is today.
I think FDR was afraid of Hitler.

Close.

He was afraid that Hitler might damage his BFF, Stalin.

" Fascism did not acquire an evil name in Washington until Hitler became a menace to·the Soviet Union."
Manly, "The Twenty Year Revolution," p. 48

Imagine if FDR had followed PCs advise on fighting the war.....
Western Europe would still be under Nazi Control, Hitlers grandson would be in power

nope. 1945, Berlin goes boom. The Nazis surrender. Europe as a whole is free. Maybe a rump Russia stays red.

How would Berlin go boom if we hadn't invented nuclear weapons yet?

Okay everyone. Todays lesson on this idiot in a wheelchair.

We could have easily taken Berlin before those drunken Russians. But since they already lost 20 million god damned people n WW2, and probably the same in WW1, we let them have it.

Well guess what folks. The Germans took over Berlin and raped and pillaged everything in sight. One of the most brutal rape and massacre of women that ever happened.

Women wandering around wide eyed and raped looking for the first bridge to jump off of. Women not already raped ran to the first bridge. Scores of women would tie themselves together and jumped so they died together and were easily gathered up.

Bet a lot of you don't even know this.

The rape of Berlin
Didn’t matter if we took Berlin first, we would have divided it up anyway. Just like the Soviets did when they gave us half.

The Soviets treated German citizens horribly but not as badly as the Germans treated Soviet citizens

You reap what you sow
FDR agreed to Stalin's request that we hold up our forces at the outskirts of Berlin so that the Red Army could take Berlin.
So?
The apportionment of Berlin had already been decided
We got half

Red Army earned it
Red Army soldiers were cannon fodder for their leaders.

FDR caved into Stalin, and gave the go ahead for the Normandy Day invasion, which was a disaster.
At that time we controlled the skies and were bombing the hell out of the Germans.
Many good young many lost the lives only because FDR loved Stalin.

Stalin had killed many more Russians than Hitler had killed Jews.

What is a "Normandy Day invasion"? Are you that ignorant?

And more. You'll notice he has FDR, who was dead, "giving away" entire European countries he didn't own anyway even when he was alive. And you may not notice, but those of us in early did, that he put these events of 1945 under "Current Events'.

To challenge RW' commie loving position, which ignores at least as many "realities" and provoke a real discussion of what could and/or should have been done.

But, unfortunately, RW, like most leftwingers, is incapable of reasoned discourse. So it was wasted.

Uncle Joe
how much did FDR know about KOba and his crimes against humanity ? love story between monster koba and FDR is just to crazy to apprehend today

real real hero, and big name in Ukraine already. but not many people know about him in the west , why? does it mean that Marxist - stalinists are still control our university camps?

Roosevelt knew it all......he didn't care.

Malcolm Muggeridge "was the first writer to reveal the true nature of Stalin's regime when in 1933 he exposed the terror famine in the Ukraine. "

Time and Eternity: The Uncollected Writings of Malcolm Muggeridge: Malcolm Muggeridge, Nicholas Flynn: 9781570759055: Amazon.com: Books

For those who don't know, Stalin starved millions to death to gain control of their property, their farms.

"1932-1933 .... Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union, set in motion events designed to cause a famine in the Ukraine to destroy the people there seeking independence from his rule. As a result, an estimated 7,000,000 persons perished..."
The History Place - Genocide in the 20th Century: Stalin's Forced Famine 1932-33

. Previous occupants of the office refused to. Almost as soon as he was President, FDR recognized the Soviet Union.... He assumed office in March of 1933, and on November 16th, 1933, signed a worthless agreement with Litvinov, recognizing the USSR.

Who ELSE would have been the government of the USSR? The frickin' Kansas City Chiefs of Kansas?

SMGDFH

Sorry.....there isn't the time or space....or inclination....to provide all of the education you so clearly have missed out on.

I'm sure some nice adult will help you get a library card.

Wash up first.

In other words you fucked up and you can't admit it.

FUCK outta here, fabricator.

So good to see you back! After all, what fun would this debate be without the human piñata!

One of my gifts is forcing the lesser members into vulgar rants.

It simply proves that I have the power, and your admission that I am never wrong.

Don’t look now, but someone wrote ‘wash me’ on your back.

Berlin fell in April 1945, we didn’t have a working bomb until July 1945.

OMG!!!

What a moron!!!

The Quebec Conferences were '43 and '44

Yalta was February '45

FDR died in April of '45

Evidence that the Roosevelt administration had every intention of handing over Europe to Stalin can be seen in a document which Hopkins took with him to the Quebec conference in August, 1943, entitled "Russia's Position," quoted as follows in Robert Sherwood's book, "Roosevelt and Hopkins: An Intimate History,":
"Russia's post-war position in Europe will be a dominant one. With Germany crushed, there is no power in Europe to oppose her tremendous military forces."
http://acienciala.faculty.ku.edu/communistnationssince1917/ch5.html

BTW....that is the reason that Stalin/Harry Hopkins had no intention of allowing Germany to surrender while they still had industrial/military capacity.

Roosevelt had bent over and grabbed the ankles long before that......he recognized the bloody regime in Russia in '33

Gads, you're an imbecile.....but you know that, don't you.

Oh....and, BTW.....Jefferson Davis was a Democrat, just like Franklin Roosevelt.
They're always the villains, aren't they.

.

Russia didn't liberate a single European country - not one. Wherever Russians troops had taken territory, ie: Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Bulgaria,
Czechoslovakia, Romania, Hungary and East Germany, none were liberated. The Russians installed puppet governments in those countries and the Iron Curtain fell.

The Russians occupied those countries - they did not liberate them.
