What acts of violence, dumbass?Demonstrably false. The specter of domestic terrorist was raised by the letter to the DOJ by the School Board Association. "As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes."
The AG's letter did not say anything about terrorism. I don't think the FBI has made a statement.
No no, I want you to believe Newsmaxine and OAN. That way when the cognitive dissonance overwhelms you, you'll take that big leap!You want us to take the word of a TDS think tank? Only an idiot would take seriously anything the Brookings institute has to say.
Sure it is, asshole. Ever heard of elections? Ever heard of the Constitution?Their role is not up to you.
You have video of someone saying "we know where you live?"Could be. "We're going to make you pay for your policy decision! We're gonna vote you out in the next election!" is less intimidating than saying "We're going to make you pay for your policy decision! We know where you live". At least imo. I bet those guys who were caught on camera making those threats are saying to themselves right now "I wonder if the FBI knows where I live?"
You have video of someone saying "we know where you live?"
Here is the actual part of the memo. They used 10 words from it in that splice and dice piece. Furthermore, by adding " or violence against school officials" they are outright lying about what the DOJ memo said.
"Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation's core values. Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety.
The Department takes these incidents seriously and is committed to using its authority and resources to discourage these threats, identify them when they occur, and prosecute them when appropriate. In the coming days, the Department will announce a series of measures designed to address the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel."
Odd thread con-sidering that it's these loony toon parents trying to intimidate schools.Who controls the schools, the taxpayers or the teachers? Who controls the subject matter? Why does the Federal government have ANY authority in States over education, that is a state responsibility. So this issue is also a "states rights" issue.
"Sen. Josh Hawley on Tuesday tore into Attorney General Merrick Garland over a memo he issued Monday night directing the FBI and other Department of Justice entities to focus on identifying and prosecuting threats of violence and harassment of school officials and board members.![]()
Hawley tears into Garland for FBI crackdown on alleged harassment of school officials
Sen. Josh Hawley alleged that the Justice Department is engaging in actions that could chill the speech of conerned parents.www.foxnews.com
The memo came after months of school board meetings nationwide that often featured contentious exchanges between officials and parents who oppose controversial policies like mask mandates, teaching critical race theory and more.
In some cases, parents have been kicked out of meetings for refusing to wear masks, leading to allegations that school boards were trying to silence dissent. In one specific instance, an entire school board was forced to resign after hot mic comments showed board members mocking concerned parents. "
The socialists are going for total control of the school systems, from grade school thru high school, since they already control the college level.
I would never have thought that the FBI would try to intimidate parents from free speech here in the USA.
Tiger Moms and Tiger Dads will push back hard to protect their kids from being indoctrinated.
Local elections should be much more interesting going forward.
If you are so con-cerned about it, then home school or pick the private school that satisfies you.Control the indoctrination of the children and you soon control all of the people. This is the goal of a totalitarian state.
If we do not stifle this bullshit from the liberals, we will soon have no freedoms whatsoever. No constitution, no free speech, no freedom of religion, no right to life, no choice.
History will repeat itself. We will experience a deadly revolution
That's the debate, who decides what kids should be taught, or not taught?Odd thread con-sidering that it's these loony toon parents trying to intimidate schools.
Then you VOTE for those you want on the school board. This is a VOTING country.....not some thug third world country.That's the debate, who decides what kids should be taught, or not taught?
Do concerned parents have control of their kids school boards, or does the commissar control what kids learn?

What crime is committed, what law protects "public servants" from verbal abuse?

1. WRONG.Basically, a verbal threat becomes a crime when:
When these elements are met and the circumstances suggest that a verbal threat is serious, a person can press charges for verbal threats
- The speaker threatens to harm or kill the listener or the listener’s family;
- The speaker’s threat is specific and unambiguous;
- The listener has reasonable belief and fear that the speaker will carry their threat out; and
- The speaker communicates the threat either verbally, in writing, or through electronic correspondence (e.g., email, text message, etc.).
