Work is the only place I don't carry. I'm 51 years old and I'm rated 90% disabled by the VA, and I can still handle these shitbags. 30+ years of martial arts, boxing, and combatives training pays off.
And btw, over 40% of all non-fatal assaults in the US occur in hospitals, specifically in ERs and behavioral health units. And the only reason they tend to be non-fatal, is because they are already at a medical facility when they get injured. The faster you receive trauma care, the more likely you are to survive; getting to the ER with a pulse is 95% of it.
Okay - I see this is a problem but I still don't get it. People who are injured or sick enough to go to an ER are violent? That's weird, but I appreciate you bringing this to my attention, although I think you pulled that 40% number outta year butt.
Nearly 50% of emergency physicians say they’ve been assaulted. 70% of emergency nurses report being hit or kicked on the job. So what’s the solution?

You're assuming they're all legitimately injured or sick, when often they are faking to get in off the streets, higher than giraffe ***** on various substances, psycho, or all 3 at the same time.
As far as the stats, I'm one of the only MOAB instructors in Texas, I know what I'm talking about.
But don't take my word for it.... you could always just look it up.
