Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs starts on Saturday with three games.

Ottawa Senators (44-27-11) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (53-22-7) at 3:00 PM Eastern.

Minnesota Wild (46-24-12) vs. Dallas Stars (50-20-12) at 5:30 PM.

Philadelphia Flyers (43-27-12) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (41-25-16) at 8:00 PM.

My team, which is also my daughter's team, the Seattle Kraken (34-36-11), did not make the playoffs. Because THEY SUCK!!!

My daughter's backup team is the Wild, so we'll be cheering them on. I have no backup team. I'm an all-or-nothing kind of guy, and my team SUCKS!!!

Canes, pens, stars.......first round

First time in my adult life I will not even watch 5 minutes sadly. Let me know if the games were good.

Wow. You are 1 for 3.

It was Hurricanes, Wild, and Flyers.

I hope you didn't make a parlay bet!

I'm thinking the Kraken were sandbagging toward the end of the season to get themselves into the next draft lottery. They knew they would never win the Stanley Cup, so why not sandbag the rest of the season, right?

Once they were disqualified from the playoffs, they suddenly started kicking ass and taking names in their last few games. And I mean wins by HUGE margins.

My daughter and I are watching the Wild tonight. They are my daughter's second favorite team.

GO WILD!!!

Down 3 to 2 with less than two minutes left in the game, the Minnesota Wild decide to go with an empty net.

Has this tactic EVER worked?

I have never seen it work, and so Dallas scored a goal on the empty net from the opposite end of the ice.

Dallas 4, Minnesota 2.

Last Saturday, the Wild beat the Stars 6 to 1.

Go figure.

slim chance but a hail mary, you score, OT, anything can change, I have seen this done regular season, actually one game the team was down by two and they scored twice to tie it up and win in OT

It is 12:47 am Minnesota time and the Wild are still battling the Stars in a game which started four hours ago. They are now in double overtime with the score tied at 3-3. The players are soaked in sweat.

There are no shootouts in playoff OT like in the regular season. Just sudden death. Maybe the league should rethink that.

It's a home game for the Wild and I gotta say their fans are some of the surliest sonsabitches you ever saw.

As luck would have it, the sportscasters taking their turn for this game are the Kraken sportscasters, and they are the best there is.

The goaltenders have earned their pay tonight.

The Flyers play the Carolina Hurricanes in the next bracket.

The Minnesota Wild are up 3 games to 2 against the Dallas Stars.

They only have to win one more game, Dallas has to win the next two.

Go Wild!

My brother-in-law is a Flyers fan. So good for him!

The Penguins are assholes.
I used to never care to much about the Pittsburgh rivalry until they seemingly purposefully ran over our goalie to injure him in the playoffs.
Yeah many started hating them for their draft lottery suspiciously good luck and special treatment.

15th post
Would the Boston Bruins just give up and let their season die mercifully, as it should have two weeks ago? You’re not winning a Stanley Cup so stop wasting my damn time.

Hell yeah.
Wild advance for first time in 11 years sending Dallas home.
:TH_WAY~113:
Two goals by Hughes.

Sadly, the Wild were knocked out of the playoffs last night in their fifth game against Colorado in overtime.

My brother-in-law's team, the Flyers, have also been knocked out.

All I have left to cheer for are the Canadiens. I have a close friend from Montreal and that's his team.

:(

It's a sad, sad day when you have to cheer for the Habs. Even sadder if you're cheering for the Maple Leafs.
