Farmers on the hook for millions after Trump freezes USDA funds

It really is odd, and telling. All one has to do is post a solar panel article asserting they provide electricity and people believe a solar panel equals the power of a nuclear power plant or fossil fuel plant.

Why do people believe in unicorns mermaids and solar panels
Here is the secret you don't know.

If you want to examine the cost basis, I am there. But yes, solar is cheapest. We just need a good means of storing energy.

Bullshit, it has been proven over and over, that solar is expensive

Why is it subsidized

You know what it is like when the power goes out? I mean for me, it pretty much sucks. No internet, no water because there is no power to the pump. You are madly calling the power company on your cell phone, which barely has a signal because there is no wi-fi. Sucks.

I mean how much better would it be. Solar cells, battery back-up, excess back to the grid. Seems like a no-brainer. I will definitely do it before I retire, I be damn if I pay a power bill in retirement.

Hahaha. Solar is a tiny trickle of electricity. There are zero high tension power lines coming from a solar plant. Solar can not provide peak power let alone peak power and power for the other 20 hours in a day

That system will cost you $50k

At least he ain't no stupid dog. He knows where the action is.

Good patrol dog to keep out the riff raff.

He sleeps good at night after coming home and chowing down.
He shouldn’t be knockin’ the buds around! Prolly got hissef covered in resin. He’s stoned fer sure.

Are you of the belief that oil and gas are not subsidized?
The tax law applies to all, you can't call tax deductions subsidies.

Solar is paid for by the taxpayer. Development, the research, the panels, and then every watt produced gets a government pay check.

Yes, a commercial farm
You posted a picture of a feed lot as well, for 10 cows when we are speaking about crops, not cows.

You failed, dramatically
Wow, you are barking up the wrong tree. A feedlot is not a commercial farm. They buy herds, mostly grazing on public lands, and then feed them corn to fatten them up.

Uh, you failed. A 100% failure. You claimed that farmers used solar power to water their crops. To prove farmers growing soy beans or corn are using solar to pump water you linked to Wikipedia which I took this pic from.
This picture has nothing to do with the discussion about crops. This picture also proves only the smallest of cattle farms can use solar.
How deep is the well? Is it 400ft deep like the wells in California, doubtful.

Okay. The government and organizations state the cost of green energy is $10 trillion a year until we hit at least $300 trillion. We are not going to spend $300 trillion building nuclear power or fossil plants.

How is $300 trillion cheap? And at $300 trillion green energy will still be a fraction of the energy we use!

Why are you using an article from 2020? Oh I know, cause when you don't know anything about energy you have to Google your opinion.

Your article is based partially on the largest solar plant in the world that is being shutdown cause it don't work.

Your article does not include any of the bankruptcies. The article does not include all the failed wind turbines and solar failures.

Your article failed

Only an idiot links to Wikipedia
Only an idiot compares 10 cows to modern farming

You lost that one, really bad
What the **** do they eat? That's like a cow nightmare. Obviously they had something before they got there.
idk 'bout that one on the right.

It's a bad deal the way the USDA runs farmers. Seriously.
Just ask any farmer.... 😣
Solar panels destroys the flower farm.
Solar panels don't provide electricity to the flower farm, they provide to grid.
Flower farms don't use electricity to grow flowers.
exactly
the install(s) are more to address rolling blackouts than anything else

“Farmers report missing millions of dollars of funding they were promised by the U.S. Agriculture Department, despite promises from the Trump administration that a federal funding freeze would not apply to projects directly benefiting individuals.
[…]
Farmers who signed contracts with the Agriculture Department under those programs paid up front to build fencing, plant new crops and install renewable energy systems with guarantees that the federal government would issue grants and loan guarantees to cover at least part of their costs. Now, with that money frozen, they’re on the hook.

Laura Beth Resnick, who runs a Maryland flower farm, said she signed a contract for the Agriculture Department to cover half of a $72,900 solar panel installation. In late January, she said, she was told her reimbursement payment was rejected due to Trump’s executive order.”

More Trump chaos and incompetence; Trump is unfit to be president.
Why should taxpayers pay for capital improvements on someone's private property? Anyway, I am sure it will be unfrozen at some point.

Solar panels don't prevent rolling blackouts.
The government doesn't make pork and beef, okay, I'll add chicken, but they sure make a lot of money off of people that do. There's no open market in America. No.
Meat producers have to be USDA approved.
Basically all meat in the US gets sold to the USDA.
What they do with it from there is interesting.

I reckon if you had enough of them with a battery/inverter setup they could.
Not like my cousin's idea of an Army jet-started generator to the shop idea, but ok.
The army generator lined in worked, btw. Splendidly.
