Not the 1st time a Formula One race has been cancelled due to a conflict.
Teams and drivers won't race. Putin is to blame for a huge prestigious loss to the Russian people and F1 fans.
"Formula One has cancelled the Russian Grand Prix after the state’s invasion of Ukraine and it has emerged there was likely to have been a mass boycott of the event by the drivers had it gone ahead. The sport did not issue any condemnation of Russia but cited the “impossibility” of holding the race under the current circumstances."
F1 could have faced driver boycott had Russian GP not been cancelled
Lando Morris, George Russell and Pierre Gasly joined Sebastian Vettel in saying they would not have taken part, while the Haas team have removed the Russian flag-based livery of their title sponsor
