The states that mass mailed had mostly done so for years, legally...some states for twenty plus years have only mass mailed ballots and citizens can NOT vote in person, only by mail in ballots per their state election laws.

a couple of states like New Jersey did mass mailings but those states were strong leaning Democratic states where their electoral votes for president would have gone to the Democratic candidate regardless.

The swing States that Trump contested and claimed was stolen, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia Wisconsin, and Arizona DID NOT MASS MAIL BALLOTS, and only mailed ballots to individual legally registered voters who requested a ballot be mailed to them. Some mass mailed absentee ballot requests, that the voter could fill out and request an absentee ballot be mailed to them.

My husband, a republican, got at minimum 3 different ballot request forms sent to him by the Republican Party and GOP, he used none, and voted in person, but the R party has been sending him these request forms for at least a decade.

I, on the other hand have been voting via absentee ballot for at least 20 years, living in States that have NO EXCUSE NEEDED mail in voting...and I LOVE voting via absentee/mail voting.

my state does not require an actual signature when requesting a ballot be mailed to me, but does require specific things as identifiers...name as registered under, address on file, party affiliation if I have a party and where to mail and other checks they review before sending me a ballot to my home....that my local precinct checks, and the ballot is mailed to me from them....not the state.

That too is not true, in the swing states contested by Trump. Some had looser rules than others but those states did a requested audit of signatures by Trump's campaign and they matched.

Swing states also allowed voters to CURE their rejected ballots due to signature or other reasons, up until 7 days after the election. If they came in to CURE them, then those ballots were counted, if they did not CURE their ballot, then the ballot was NOT counted.

Oh geez! 2/3s at minimum of voters in 2020 were absentee or early in person voters due to safety/health reasons. Democrats were encouraged to NOT vote in person, and to vote via absentee ballot....which were counted last, after all election day votes were counted. Republicans were encouraged to vote in person.
