Everyone wants to be a pirate until it’s time to look like one.

Eight people were blinded during the Floyd riots. Arrr matey. :laughing0301:

"Witness video clips from eight different incidents of police brutality on the same May 30 date seem to prove that authorities involved in at least one of the incidents lied in official reports of what happened, according to a Washington Post investigation"

Yeah, I know. It's the Daily Kos, but here anyway...

At least 8 people partially blinded same day during police rampage against George Floyd protesters

That patch was on the other eye in a previous photo.

Why do Right Wingers abhor all protest, especially protesters against police brutality? And those same Right Wingers cheer police brutality, especially when protesters are permanently injure by police brutality?

What is it about police brutality that appeals to these people?
Protest all you want. Civil disobedience...I understand. But your rights end where the next citizens begin. You become a part of a riotous, violent, destructive mob...all bets are off.
This means, of course, that each and every protesters must be culpable for the actions of very other protester and, therefore just as guilty and subject to...wait for it...the very police brutality you're protesting!

May we add an additional slice of irony to the shit sandwich we served up along with the rubber bullets?

YES. Absolutely. Unequivocally.

When the peaceful protest turns violent and you remain...not dispersing when required...you are culpable.

This ain't rocket science.

It's civics 101.

If the group of which you are member violently attacks police...if you are a peaceful protester...it's time to disassociate yourself from that group with a quickness.

Back in my day, they (The National Guard) ventilated their skulls with M-16s.
They rioted no more after that...go figure. :dunno:
It also sent a message to other would-be rioters.
Back when Democrats were Americans. They aren't anymore.

..there is no police brutality problem

I can't speak for anyone else but when I look in the rear view mirror and see a cop car behind me, I actually find it rather comforting.

Should I be afraid instead?
Sure, if you have illegal drugs or an open bottle of alcohol in the car. Of course, if you do and you RESIST ARREST, you have only yourself to blame for the end result.

This supposes that the protest is in a small, restrained area of town, not a March blocks long? This also indicts the students at Kent State University fifty years ago. The National Guard fired into the unarmed stud ntsmjust as classes were changing and the group of students appeared to grow larger. Three of the dead students were killed in the parking lot of Taylor Hall, still holding books.

Just shows that the cops are not infallible? The protesters gassed in Lafayette Square on June 1 were peaceful. The Australian TV crew was peaceful. The elderly gentleman shoved to the pavement in Buffalo was peaceful. The students clubbed by cops in Philadelphia were peaceful.

And, ironically, they were all protesting excess police force.

They were destroying and defacing public property. Lafayette Square belongs to the people of the US, not a bunch of ignorant racist rioters.
Duh.

George Floyd was an alcoholic meth head, a criminal record who resisted arrest.

A left loon fckn hero. Pick better heros, loons
..he robbed a pregnant lady--and THIS is their hero???????!!!!!! ..no wonder they are all fked up

....all bullshit
1. the cop was not trying to kill him
2. race had nothing to do with it
....the cop did it wrong--but it is nowhere close to the bullshit protests/etc

You're obfuscating.

When the police are being violently attacked by members of your protest... and you remain after being asked to disperse...you are a party to the violence.

If the police then use force to disperse violent protests and you are injured... it's nobody's fault but your own. If you're a peaceful protester...you don't want to be involved with the crazies. Go home, come back tomorrow and peacefully protest some more.

IMO the police can and should defend themselves, defend the community and defend property from a violent riotous mob.

Ahhh but why would I have drugs or an open bottle of alcohol in the car? Especially the drugs. I pride myself on being a trusted individual in the eyes of my federal, state, and local governments. They have granted me the exclusive right to carry a concealed weapon almost anywhere I want to.

Of course, those idiots who are regular or even occasion users of pot, are ineligible to even possess a firearm. That is a felony for which they would forever lose their Second Amendment right to bear arms.

Can you account for excessive and unnecessary use of force by the police? Can you account for minor acts of violence met by overwhelming police force? Is it possible that the authorities don't always act with restraint? Is it possible that the police are not infallible?

They were peacefully protesting the evening of June 1, 2020. Then Trump wanted his clumsy photo op. And all hell broke loose. Duh.

The Australian TV crew got beaten by truncheons. Pepper spray filled the air. And the protesters were peaceful.

The authorities over reacted, over policed and beat people unnecessarily. Duh.

Yeah, shooting people in the eyes is a common theme of fascist regimes. In fact it is how you know that members of such police departments are ideological devoid of any humanity and "fair game" without the slightest moral hazard.
