I love how you CONZ complain about investments in new technologies and look to cut them off as if investment in our future is a bad bet. How much has been spent on missile defense? Oh a couple HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS Do we have a missile defense system that can shoot down enemy missiles? NO.

I believe a totally fair and equitable and uniform tax like that will solve our problems.

Has it reduced either the raw numbers or percentage of people in poverty?....NO!

Once the national debt is paid off we can adjust the income tax rate to 40 percent of all income over $40,000. We will call that the "40 - 40 Plan" and it will be the Guiding Light into the Grand Future of this Great Land.

ACTUALLY VERY LITTLE WAS SPENT ON LBJ'S PROGRAMS, WHICH WERE LOTS OF TALK AND LITTLE FINANCIAL SUBSTANCE. REMEMBER HE WAS SPENDING HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS ON THE WAR IN VIETNAM.

Go back and look, the war was greatly expanded when LBJ was President. Nixon followed him and remember his famous statement on the White House tapes, "I am n ot going to be the first president who is going to spend money on the G-d D-mn Ni--ers to pull them out of poverty.

Nixon did not spend money on Blacks or Hispanics. Ford followed Nixon and he didn't do it either. By then the War on Poverty had been forgotten. Hardly any real money was spent.
