Cheating is unavoidable if our schools insist that blacks do as well as whites/asians. They don't have the brains and everyone knows it.

Educators begin surrendering in alleged Atlanta cheating scandal - CBS News

April 2, 2013 8:04 AM

(CBS News) Thirty-five Atlanta educators are expected to surrender Tuesday after being indicted in the biggest alleged cheating scandal involving standardized testing in American history. The list of suspects includes everyone from the former superintendent to principals and teachers.

Nearly 200 educators admitted to taking part in the massive scandal: they tampered with students' standardized tests and corrected answers to inflate scores. Some teachers had pizza parties to erase wrong answers and circle in the right ones. One principal allegedly handled altered tests wearing gloves to avoid leaving her fingerprints.

At one middle school, 86 percent of eighth-graders scored proficient in math, compared to 24 percent the year before. Prosecutors say that progress was a criminal mirage.

"The four principle crimes that are charged in the indictment are the statements and writings, false swearings, theft by taking, and influencing witnesses," Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. said.

Beverly Hall is Atlanta's retired school superintendent. Her system's turnaround won her national fame, awards, and more than $500,000 in performance bonuses. But investigators say she pressured teachers and principals to cheat, and punished those who refused. Hall, among those indicted, has denied the charges. A grand jury recommended her bail be set at $7.5 million.

All 35 educators face racketeering charges. The maximum sentence could be 20 years in prison.

Guess what obozo will do about this. He'll blame the failure of black students on white people and insist we spend more money on black kids.

We need to stop all this favoritism for blacks. Tell them to sink or swim on their own, same as other groups.

Apparently, this has been going on for quite some time in the Atlanta School District.
Defense attorneys are arguing for reduced bonds for the suspects.
Cheaters..Let them think about what they have done while preparing for their trials.

There was that other recent scandal where teachers were paying a proxy to go and take their exams for employment.

Check this out. It's unreal that these scams are going on.

Arkansas educator arrested for taking certification tests as proxy for teachers in AR, MS, and TN

At the center of the investigation is an Arkansas educator who took certification tests for approximately 50 teachers.

The test security breach involved the PRAXIS, administered by ETS. After discovering the cheating activity, ETS informed the authorities who conducted the criminal investigation.Federal authorities said that for 15 years, some teachers in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas have been paying others to take certification tests for them.

Fifty-eight-year-old Clarence Mumford, who used to be an assistant principal at Humes Middle School and a guidance counselor at Hillcrest High School in Memphis, is named in a 45-count indictment charging him with wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and document fraud.

Mumford was arrested Monday night at his Memphis home.

Disgusting. How did your rep get back above 0

He does have a point though, the Government forces police, fire and emergency agencies to lower test standards for minorities. And the Liberals destroyed the ethics of our teachers. No hurting the feelings of the little darlings.

Hell Florida just passed a plan to allow blacks to get special consideration in school because they aren't doing as well as other groups.

See there's a good conversation starter.

Other states have done that too. They give standardized tests to all the kids but the passing grade for negros and hispos is way below that of whites and asians.!!!

Definitely blows the whole liberal argument that, "teachers aren't part of the problem when it comes to this country's failing public education system."

Fact is, teachers are THE major part of the problem, along with administrators, lousy parents, unions, and liberals in general

I'm reading that this cheating on these NCLB test results to get the schools and the administrators more money is very common.

It is, and hopefully the sheer size and scope of this particular scandal will seriously start to wake people up as to what is going on in our public school system nationwide.

When a school is mostly black it's a huge problem as blacks just can't pass standardized tests. They need sympathetic teachers who will cut them slack in class and grade them on an easier scale than the one used for whites/asians. Standardized tests are death for blacks.

Is everything racial in your world?

This happens at colleges everywhere.
What college is going to flunk a student when no strings attached taxpayer funded grants give them money regardless of how the student does??

I don't deny that grant funding has an impact--but, mostly, colleges are competing with one another for students. Student tuition pays for programs, and more students = more tuition payments. Colleges have discovered that students like them more when they can expect higher grades.

And students have also discovered that high achievement in college does not actually translate into better wages or salaries anywhere.

So,

there is no motivation to grade to the Bell curve (which I support), and a lot of reasons to give everyone an "A."

yes, we have a severely messed-up system.

I was in total disbelief in the difference when I was in college and today....just incredible.
In the 1980's - students were routinely kicked out of college or forced to change majors if they could not achieve grade requirements. Today, especially minority students (hey let's call it like it is) there are legions of kids attending school only for the free ride. It is like a four year vacation for a huuuuge amount of students today.
Especially community colleges. Take Indianapolis Ivy Tech...graduation rate 4%. Yet they boast plus 67% students have financial aid (a.k.a. free ride for many)
With all of this free money...colleges are not about to grade tough.

It is, and hopefully the sheer size and scope of this particular scandal will seriously start to wake people up as to what is going on in our black public schools nationwide.

Fixed it for ya. Remember the thread is about hatin' on black people.
