End Of The Line For The Pittsburgh Steelers?

And let’s be clear if Tomlin was the coach anywhere but Pittsburgh he’d have been fired long ago.
Hasn’t had a losing record in decades
What other teams can claim that?

Why would you want to do that to Jackson Dart? Tomlin has shown no ability to develop young QBs. Or put together good offensive lines.

We would need him to get a lights out OC, but the whole team needs someone as HC who's been around the block.

I would take Mike Tomlin in a minute

Just see who Pittsburgh gets that is better

Tomlin literally walked into a situation where mediocrity is good enuf as long as respect is held onto! It was the same way in Dallas over the years w/ multiple coaches that came & went averaging 8-8 in their worst seasons! While Jerry needed to appear thoughtful by "moving on" from a coach he really liked; Coach "Clap" Garrett's doing better on TV! Pittsburg doesn't make rash moves, don't renegotiate deals, & they ride a coach into the ground as long as they stay above water! I'm shocked more hasn't been made of how The Steelers have maintained over the decades w/ very little change! After Landry was dismissed in Dallas, Pittsburgh has had only 2 coaching changes! Dallas' run thru about 8 after Jimmy Johnson fired! (End Rant) :stir::dunno::D

Tomlin was never that good. He inherited a SB team with a HOF QB in his prime and hasn't won anything since the team Cowher built attritted.

He gets them ready to play, I'll give him that. They often over-achieve in regular season games just smashing top opponents. Surprising everyone as they take over games.

But the last three playoff losse? UzgH! Down early by 21 or more all three losses. They can't make up points like that and "win ugly" living on turnovers and out-hitting or hustling in playoff games.

All true, but it won't keep him out of the HOF! His jacket's being tailored as we speak! :dunno: :auiqs.jpg:

Oh for sure. He's been a HC for 20 years has won a SB, and "never had a losing season"...... Honestly I wish he had had a losing season early so people wouldn't be saying that. I feel like it's too large a part of his legacy which the Steelers and he have worked very hard to protect. I don't think they would trade a losing season for a SB at this point.

Season stats are just that; you don't build championships on having 9-8 seasons. The Steelers get no respect for having some of the worst records for the worst things in the league now, like holding the record for the longest streak for losing to teams 8+ games or more BELOW .500.

And all their problems, a consistent failure to ever adjust or fix any of their problems doesn't follow any player, it follows the head coach. The question now is when the Steelers play in just over 12 hours, will it be another hapless Tomlin Team that shows up, that things fall apart for them and unravel immediately as soon as they begin playing either doing stupid things or just really bad luck with the ball? Will this be the last hurrah for the season, for Tomlin, for Rodgers, or will they surprise all and actually show some spirit left to rise up to defeat Baltimore?

They can do it, Baltimore might go back to a passing-heavy offense again via Jackson, and the Ravens defense is not all that good. If the Steelers do come back to go out beating Baltimore and become a 10-7 team finally first time in years and again advance to the Playoffs, I think it will be inspired more by Aaron Rodgers drive to relive his own standard more than anything from Mike Tomlin.

What a slap in the face for Pittsburgh if after leading their division all season, battered and beaten Baltimore comes back on the very last game of the season in the very last seconds on the final drive to kick Pittsburgh out and they themselves again move on instead to play in a playoff game while Tomlin's team sits home and jerks off a mere spectator again. :auiqs.jpg:

Giants ownership would be move involved in hires like that.
the same leadership that hired

McAdoo 13-15
Spags. 1-3
Shurmur 9-23
Judge 10-23
DaBoll 20-40

That leadership?

Good luck with that. 🤣
