How much are they gonna be paid?
I'm not exactly sure if they are. They don't need paychecks. Both are independently wealthy enough to never get a job again.
The lack of paychecks frees them from certain government obligations too.
So I'm not exactly sure.
However,
The cutting of expenditures is somewhat deceptive in some ways and great in others.
They point at research projects that are obviously ridiculous. I've got a feeling that these are not what they seem to be on the surface but are instead some form of payoffs of some sort...bribery or writing a wrong that has been perpetrated. Any number of things. (Cost overruns they didnt want to admit to or illegal bioweapons related research)
I have no facts...but it's not unheard of in accounting to rob Peter to pay Paul. But it does cause a severe lack of transparency in Government spending. Which can be good or maybe is not good depending upon the situation. Public opinion is how the "Mule ended up drowned in the river" fable come to fruition in reality.
I don't need to know that our government is spending money on various methods for mitigating various bioweapons our enemies might use as an act of terrorism. Neither do the terrorists.
Cuts need to be done.
Harassing Government employees by demanding employees come into the office daily is NOT a solution. We need cuts by means of a scalpel instead of a chainsaw.
When out government spends $2,000 per $1,000 to give to a citizen....that's a problem.
Where I'll absolutely agree that "Oversight" leadership has abjectly failed....maybe the pay structures could be changed into bonuses for cutting actual spending and not growth. (Maybe).
