Assange is simply a reporter. He's never been a US citizen and AFAIK has never even been to the USA. He shouldn't be prosecuted by the USA for anything. He's never even been under US jurisdiction.

Snowden, on the other hand, clearly committed multiple crimes. He should serve time for those crimes.

However, that's irrelevant because Snowden is now a Russian citizen and the Russian constitution forbids the extradition of Russian citizens. He will never stand trial in America.
