That idea only works if you are ignoring the provocation which the US and Nato did towards Russia. That idea also has Putin becoming the most evil man who has ever stepped foot in the Universe. The sort of person you would only find in comics. That idea means he must be destroyed. That idea says there is no hope of peace. I will get back to you about that. In addition as far the US wanting Ukraine in Nato it has been talking about it pretty much since the Soviet Union ended. Ukraine has fought in Nato wars for example Iraq and I think Afghanistan.

I have to admit that Mask's ideas have some rational basis. Ending of fighting and letting people in the occupied areas decide on free referenda.

But these ideas are a no-starter both for Ukraine government and the Putin regime. So, there is nothing to discuss about it.

The only thing I strongly disagree with is Ukraine's neutrality. Ukraine should become a part of the EU and NATO, though it may be reasonable to put limitations on foreign bases and military hardware that can be placed there.

There's another way of looking at it.

Putin said he wanted Ukraine to be neutral to be farther away from NATO. By annexing territories, what he thinks is Russia is actually closer to NATO in reality.
