Elon Musk: "If you need a school, you've lost already"

We have a lot of walking to do Jan 20th.

Unchecked border crossing, massive criminal presence already here, government overreach, child mutilation and drugging.

Just getting his people approved will be a fight, then the second some illegal is detained 10,000 protesters and 1000 lawyers will try to stop it.
The O-1 visas are the ones we want....The H1Bs are the ones cutting the nuts off the high wage skilled US workers.

Every job at Disney was filled. Disney just didn't want to pay them.

It's the same thing here. People are available, Musk just doesn't want to pay them. People are not getting a better education in India.
That isn't even remotely true.

Disney hired the Marx model graduates, who by dent of their shit eduction, don't deserve the pay they receive now.

Musk, on the other hand, hires -- or is looking to hire -- highly educated and qualified -- individuals. Of course, he is going to want to get them at the lowest cost to himself, much like you and everyone else who looks to minimize cost and maximize value.

What's all the fuss about? What did Elon go and say now?

I worked with a young engineer who had a degree in Material Science from Purdue, smart as a whip, and considered applying at SpaceX, he had all the qualifications, and it was a deep list. He didn't want to move to California though, he moved back to Chicago.

Look at the top engineers coming out of top American engineering schools and you won't find a majority of Americans are graduating. You do not graduate High School in China without knowing chemistry and calculus. Deep knowledge.

We are falling behind much of the world.

I think Elon is trying to say that self motivation is what drives success and no outside help is needed.

Nah, it's not that deep. It's Musk looking at his own short, remaining life and not being willing to make generational changes like this.

From an Engineer on ARFCOM.

There is a dire shortage of talented and motivated engineers in the US. Blame Gen-Z, blame the colleges, blame society, it doesn't matter, most of the current crop of engineers are straight retarded with zero drive.

They demand "training" on everything they don't understand, including the basic stuff they should have learned sophomore year of school. Not one of them has been willing to invest in themselves or get their hands dirty.

Their idea of "training" is "tell me exactly what to do, and I will blame you later when I fuck it up because I didn't listen". - Rock_Ranger

Blah....The simple fact of the matter is that our society has been dumbed down due to leftism.

We do have the engineering schools and people from all over the world come here for an education in them.

We just don't have the US children to fill those schools.....Everyone wants to sit on their ass and become an "influencer" or other such dumb leftist shit.

Higher education has become corporatized...
It now seeks the maximum return for minimum output. Bad combination for education.

For the most part they are exchanging high-cost diplomas (and the 100K+ loans that go with them) for not much more than middle management jobs if the student is lucky.

Elon had a knack for keeping slaves in his diamond minds that is peeking through here......~S~

The problem is, Musk is basically right. These days, if you're motivated to learn, YouTube is one of your best resources. I'm learning the details of quantum wave functions right now, YouTube is my best friend.

Except for one thing. Schools have research facilities. You can't get the hands on technical knowledge without them. You can get quantum computing for free at IBM, but if you're into materials you need the high power physics and chemistry equipment.

I've not participated in a appendectomy but I've seen it done on YouTube.

I'm always using YT for gun disassembly/reassembly, but I have to check several out to find someone with a voice that I can stand.....Most are heavily accented good-ol-boys that sound like I do.

I always found this guy to be pleasant to listen to.
