Elon Musk: "If you need a school, you've lost already"

Some work, getting rid of biased moderators.

All of this isn't specific to Musk.
Yes it is, it is associated with his companies, to include his use of China as a production base due to low labor cost.

GM and Ford use Mexico for the same thing, don't they?

People will always complain. They will always think they are smarter than others, worth more, etc.
When faced with a possibility that they are not above everyone else then it has to be someone or something else.
There are numerous accounts of existing Murican Silicon Valley workers being forced to train the cheaper imported Hajjis, let they lose their severance packages.

Musk has always been a mixed bag, and this is the part of the mix that doesn't make the grade.

The study was about the American workforce, and it's comparison to the median American income.

Bringing up China is just deflection.
No, it is about outsourcing something you deny because you have yer eyes wide shut on the principles that Musk, Trump, and Vivek want us to believe them and what they say versus what they do.

Is Elon correct?

LOL....Can't say myself.

I know this, were I an “expert” in any field, I would not intentionally get into a public debate with EM. ;)

I do know this......There are damn near zero skilled, educated, and competent people that are out of work in my AO.
My son is a certified professional engineer and he does have a degree that has opened doors for him. A couple of years ago he received the top reward his large company provides.

But like most college degrees, while not entirely worthless--some of the information he learned in school has been useful--college did not prepare him for what he would need to know to be excellent in his job. For instance he was required to take Calculus I, II & III to get his degree and he has used it not at all in any engineering job he has held. Almost everything he does he learned from others who have been doing it for a long time--many who did NOT have engineering degrees--plus his own intuition, instincts, work ethic, and curiosity/intellect has enabled him to improve many processes and procedures that won him that award.

In addition to his full time engineering job, he owns/runs a private music school providing piano, guitar, violin, voice etc. training to some 80 to 100 kids with a long waiting list. He is a skilled musician in his own right but absolutely has no degree for teaching or running a music school but has been quite successful for many years now. All that required were the instincts and desire to do it.

So Elon is right. While we definitely want our doctor, lawyer, pharmacist, structural engineer etc. to have a degree and honest certification in their fields, you most likely won't get aptitude/natural ability, instinct, creativity, natural ability, intellect, work ethic, curiosity, ability to innovate and adapt from formal education. These are things you are born with. Without them no amount of education will make you expert in anything other than the most mundane and non creative jobs. And many with no degrees can be brilliant doing the same jobs.

There are many skilled Americans that can fill the needed positions, but the Muskrat won't pay them what they're worth.

MAGA always has an excuse.

H-1B visas are chickenshit compared to the actual border issues, so if I disagree with them on this, it doesn't mean I go against them entirely.

It's the typical arguing point of the feeble minded, all or nothing.

You people adorate the wealthy and elite, yer God must be so proud.

That's the Dems these days, not the Republicans.

1985 called, it want's it's prog talking point back.

Condemn higher education and then complain there isn't enough highly educated candidates available.
HE rightly points out that higher education is to blame for the shortage. So called "higher" education is focused on the Marxist application of the soft sciences of the 'humanities'. Because they have failed the American people and their student, we now have a shortage of qualified and talented engineers to meet his needs. Hence the support of getting talent from outside our bordres.

He is not alone in this.

The right has been pushing for a couple of decades to get out of the Marx model and into a STEM model. A STEM model benefits the country and its people far more than the Marx model.

The Dems, the MAGATs and the GOP do it....Fuck the progs and yer echo chamber dog whistles, how long has it been since you didn't speak like an incel? Do you know what truth and brevity of wit are?

They follow the same pattern...Bring in the cheaper Indians and make the higher paid Murcans train them in, before they're kicked to the curb.

Deal with the unskilled criminals first, then we can deal with H1-B's.
