Egg Shortages and Prices Sky Rocket Just Before Thanksgiving

Yet, it was not to long ago that a supermarket was selling turkeys for a huge discounted price if I bought a certain amount of food.

Long gone are those days. Food and gas prices are extremely high.
I went to the grocery store. My total was $115. The clerk handed me a free turkey. My daughter-in-law got two free turkeys. She spent over $200.00. The granddaughter got a free turkey. We gave two to a neighborhood pantry. They were also up to their eyeballs in turkey. A volunteer drove a carload to a nearby town.

Other than that, our produce and eggs we get locally.

Where is that at. They don't do that in Connecticut.

Nice, I just checked the local ad in southern california. Free turkey if I spend $100, which is very easy to do. .59 cents a pound if I spend $50

I just got the best job of life so I am in Los Angeles renting a 9ft by 9ft room for $1100 a month
I did that, in Los Angeles. I lived in Marina Del Rey, West LA, than nearer to Beverly Hills, in Pico Robertson.

Not the best of neighborhoods. My office was in Torrance. I lived in Redondo Beach.
.I spent a week at Providence hospital in Torrance.

Seems real nice to me. Not as nice as Torrance but my neighborhood seems okay. And I can walk to the best place for dinner.

Although I don't think that most of us use eggs for the holiday itself. Unless your bread/rolls are homemade that is.

Up where I am, eggs are $3.50 a dozen at the Family Dollar store....the grocery store they are $4.50. I bought two dozen.

My fresh Turkey, was $0.95 cents a pound.... Which was cheap!

You do use eggs in Thanksgiving cooking.... The stuffing takes beaten eggs to hold it together...the sweet potatoes casserole or soufle takes eggs or candied yams take an egg...if you are making pumpkin or pecan or key lime pie takes eggs...a couple of eggs here or there can add up to almost a dozen.

I don't use eggs in stuffing, but mine is mostly bread

You're at SpaceX? How do you like it? Is it true about the long hours?

1100 got me in lawndale so not so bad
That is worth the shorter commute. 1100 anywhere in LA is not bad at all. You can do maybe 100 less out in Sun Valley where the horse properties are, but then you're saddled with a 3 hour commute every day.

Mine is half white bread and half cornbread mixed, the egg or two in the dressing is after you put it all together with the sauteed , onion, celery, walnuts and green pepper, and seasoning and turkey broth, you beat a couple of eggs and loosely mix it in with the dressing after it is all put together, it will help the dressing hold together better and not just loosely crumble after cooking.....at least that is what mama said!! :)
