Belarus threatens Ukraine and even EU countries with war over the violation of their airspace by Ukrainian drones. There are allegedly European made parts in one of the drones that were shot down. However, the monitoring project "Belaruski Hajun" claims no drones were detected over Belarus on the day of the violation.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry writes:

"On August 12, 2024, the Chargé d'Affaires of the European Union in the Republic of Belarus, Sten Nörlov, was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In connection with the violation of the airspace of Belarus on August 9, 2024, Ukrainian UAVs conveyed the position of the Belarusian side on this issue to the European diplomat. The presence of markings of EU manufacturers on a number of elements of one of the drones shot down by the Belarusian air defense forces was especially noted.

It was emphasised that such actions carry the potential for a radical escalation of the military conflict, which is fraught with its serious expansion, including to the EU countries.

Belarus, which has consistently advocated a peaceful settlement of the crisis through negotiations, calls on the European Union to take all possible measures to influence the Ukrainian leadership in order to prevent such actions in the future."

Contradicting news from Ukraine about Belarusian redeployment of troops to the Ukrainian border.

"It became known that Belarusian troops, under the pretext of "exercises", are pulling a significant part of their military capabilities, including personnel and equipment, to the border with Ukraine. The Armed Forces of Belarus are stationed near the northern part of our country."

It is believed that the troops are there to make Ukraine pulling troops from the front lines. Nevertheless, Ukraine warned Belarus of any actions they deem an attempt to escalate and hint at the readiness of troops and defenses that are already in the region.
