Early Voting Begins Today for Virginia Redistricting Referendum

It appears these states don't want gerrymandered districts but Texas does. I only voted for this amendment because of what Texas did. I originally voted to take redistricting away from our partisan legislature.

Thanks for confirming you’re a useful idiot.

Seems to me that a governor endorsing an unconstitutional referendum...

Well lets take a look at what the Virginia Constitution says. To amend the State Constitution:
  • #1 An amendment bill must be introduced,,
  • #2 First passage, it must be passed by a majority of both houses,
  • #3 A general or special election must occur,
  • #4 Second passage by both houses is required,
  • #5 The amendment is submitted to the voters.
So...

#1 Bills introduced on October 2025 respectively in the VA Senate and House.
#2 First passage, Senate and House passed their respective bills in October 2025.
#3 November 2025 there is a General Election.
#4 Second passage, January 2026 the amendment passed both chambers.
#5 The amendment was submitted to the voters April 2026.

What part of the VA Constitution wasn't followed?

Started early, ran late. Almost everything that came in during last 90 minutes was all democrat. The pattern we have become all too familiar with. Now a higher court has said it’s no where near constitutional

Ah, activist judges overruling the will of the people.

It really sucks, huh?

Kinda like voting for a president to deport criminal illegals and his winning the popular vote, then having a bunch of unelected leftwing judges line up out of their jurisdiction to try to block every action his administration takes to carry out the policy.
