E. Jean Carroll asks judge to amend lawsuit to seek further damages for what Trump said at CNN town hall

E. Jean Carroll has asked a judge to amend her initial defamation case against former President Donald Trump to seek additional punitive damages after he repeated his statements at a CNN town hall.

The request was made in a letter to the judge seeking clarity on the initial lawsuit following the jury verdict earlier this month finding Trump sexually abused Carroll and awarding her $5 million.

Carroll’s attorneys said Trump’s defamatory statements repeated during the town hall earlier this month go directly to the issue of punitive damages, which are intended to punish the person found liable.

Carroll’s initial lawsuit was held up on appeal and relates to statements Trump made in 2019 while he was president. The trial involved a statement Trump made in 2022.

If she can have the judgment upped with every recitation Trump offers of his lies, then she's going to be a wealthy, wealthy woman.

As Trump can't shut the fuck about anything.

Those who spit on our justice system are unAmerican.
The US has dealt with traitors, like you, throughout history. Our country has always won because of the strength of our system. Our judicial system is an important part of that system. It will take you and others like you, down.
That's he DC "justice system," which is pure injustice. Its only "strength" is corruption and the double standard.

This is what's commonly referred to as a self-inflicted wound that was readily foreseeable AND easily preventable by any person with normal sensibilities.

And do you know what? The same can be said for the classified documents retrieved from Mar-a-Lago. Trump and his lawyers were given a subpoena to produce the documents, and Trump chose to lie about them instead of turning the documents over. Trump essentially created his own legal dilemma, and only made his legal jeopardy worse when he confessed to taking the documents in his CNN town hall appearance 13 days ago. That's the moment when he claimed that the Presidential Records Act allowed him to do what he did. The Presidential Records Act grants no person such a right or privilege.

What can normal people attribute this to? One possibility would be incredibly poor judgement. That's not a quality I would want in a man who's president. Another possibility would be mental illness. I think it's safe to say that mental illness disqualifies anyone from being president, The last possibility may be the sickest one. Could Trump actually be trying to get prosecuted in an effort to divide America further?

Jean Carroll didn't win a criminal case, numskull. Her case was meaningless that can only be file in New York.

First off it was a defamation lawsuit. Carroll is the one who is guilty of defamation, not Trump.

That's all a fairytale that could only occur in law-law land. Trump didn't break any laws. If he did, then why aren't they prosecuting him? We've heard nothing about this case for a year now.

The date and the ruling were the date and the ruling. The jury has gone home. That one is over, unless Trump appeals. She is free to file a new one.

Suspect that one will be set aside.
Video of her saying that she had a crush on Trump when he was on The Apprentice is damning to her initial claims.

Any legal judgment that says no there was no rape but you said bad things about this gold digging lying whore deserves to be paid off for defamation is bullshit.
When then appeal gets filed, the excuses should be interesting. The jury said no rape occurred, yet said Trump defamed this gold digger by saying she lied about it, after they just agreed with him. You can’t make this stuff up, except in loony lib NYC.

It is worth a try, I suppose, but I would not bet on it.

Nothing but her claims. No doctor report or any other medical evidence. Then jury found no rape occurred. Yet hit Trump for correctly (per their own ruling) saying she lied about it. The explanations for this should be interesting come appeal time.

Any money she gets should be sent directly to Bellview for her care.
She is crazy on a world class scale.

There are 5 million reasons that demonstrate you again don't know what the hell you're talking about.
