People have been writing off Dr. Oz Senate bid but I think he is the better candidate over John Fetterman and especially so considering that Pennsylvania overall is a moderate state when it comes to economic matters overall the state is conservative, a tax and spend liberal like Fetterman is not a good fit for Pennsylvania. Also, John Fetterman is a savvy politician, he may look like a professional wrestler with a neanderthal brain but that is a complete mislabel, Fetterman is a very bright guy! This is evidenced by his media strategy once the primary was over he took a page from President Obama' playbook and was aggressive with the negative advertisements against Dr. Oz and it has worked. Fetterman has the Pennsylvania public thinking Dr. Oz is an outsider that is using Pennsylvanians to get himself a nice gig in the U.S. Senate and Dr. Oz is this super rich guy that is out of touch with ordinary Pennsylvanians and couldn't possible advocate well for regular Pennsylvanians because he hasn't a clue what your concerns are!
Since Dr. Oz doesn't have Fetterman's war chest he is going to have to get out and pound the pavement and focus on the issues because that is what ordinary Pennsylvanians really care about and Dr. Oz beats Fetterman on the issues in Pennsylvania. Let me just back up for a second and address this carpet bagger claim against Dr. Oz; Dr. Oz should take the tact that Fetterman is focusing on this issue because he is weak on his policy positions plus being from outside Pennsylvania isn't that big of a deal! Arguably Pennsylvania's most popular and most successful politician is Ed Rendell who was born and raised in New York City and Ed as the Philadelphia Mayor practically performed a miracle on the city and as governor of PA Ed did a solidly good job, the Great Recession hit during his tenure but prior to that the state was doing well and Ed significantly helped the education system in Pennsylvania.
Another thing Dr. Oz's website for his Senate campaign sucks it doesn't sell a Pennsylvanian going on it that Dr. Oz is a great candidate for the Senate. The principle problem here is that for the "Issues" section Dr. Oz's website has several paragraphs with general Republican policy principles, no one gets moved or fired up by that. Dr. Oz needs to do what modern campaigns do is they have like eight bullet points on the issues the campaign thinks are most important for the nation and a brief explanation of their policy position on the issues.
These are some of the issues that Dr. Oz should make as part of the foundation pillars of his campaign. First, America should be energy independent. Biden and the Democrats have gone to war with the domestic energy industry under the guise of protecting the climate. The past week one analyst from a major financial institution said he believes that the price of a barrel of oil will go to $125/ barrel this year; I agree with him leaders of the countries of OPEC plus aren't deaf they can hear that the American government is racing to get off oil so the age of oil is ending so they are going to squeeze every dollar out of the industry until that happens which means holding back supply which is exactly what they are and will continue to do and the only answer is for America to produce all the fossil fuels they need. Dr. Oz should come out with the policy position that if he is elected he is going to reverse all the jacking up prices in the lease program brought about by the Inflation Reduction Act, this law increase the minimum cost of a lease twenty five times, increased royalties by at least a third and increased the rental fee for the land exponentially. This will significantly hurt domestic production, Democrats think the leasing program is about maximizing revenue to the U.S. treasury, people that know how to be good stewards of America's economy know the leasing program is about maintaining stable and moderately priced energy markets in America. Dr. Oz should come out and say he will vote to repeal this law's program putting a tax on escaping natural gas throughout the system, the product is a gas for heaven sake some will naturally escape; trade groups are saying this program will raise American families natural gas bill by twelve percent and since natural gas is indirectly used throughout our society this program will increase inflation. Also, the Biden Administration changed the environmental equation for get drilling permits and various other activities in our society making the equation fifteen more times stringent than
the Trump equation. Dr. Oz should come out and say that he will be advocating that the equation be reversed back to the Trump era standard and that by "law" (passing a federal law) Federal government agency cannot adjust the equation for two decades ( for this last item Dr. Oz should get conservative energy experts to fine tune the energy policy to protect it from attacks from Democrats.
Dr. Oz should go through the major issues facing America and come out with specific policy positions. One immigration. the Democrats want the government policy to always be if you make it into the country, you aren't picked up at the border, you get to permanently stay how will that stop the crisis of illegal immigrants flowing into our country. Another, prescription drugs. Another, the minimum wage.
