What would have made things better is for banks, both public and private, to not give risky loans. PERIOD.
They wouldn't if we would quit bailing them out.

I think that racism is so engrained in America, that people can always find reasons to rationalize it.
Point is, these banks engaged in redlining, which is against the law.
They wouldn't if we would quit bailing them out.
But it is ok for the GSEs to take on such risks in the name of “equity”?
It is more likely that the CA court along with Biden’s DOJ is engaging in lawfare. It wouldn’t be the first time.
Banks are businesses. Money talks. They would loan to ANYBODY they felt would help their bottom line. I would be willing to bet they loaned to black and Hispanic people in other areas, thus proving the point.
But it is ok for the GSEs to take on such risks in the name of “equity”?
It was a quid pro quo. Banks wanted regulations lifted and politicians wanted to see more home ownership.
So regulations were lifted and banks went on a lending spree.
This was a problem created in a very bipartisan manner.
But sadly, people are still more concerned with blaming the other side than in enacting stronger regulations.
Again, racism usually trumps (pun intended) greed in this country.
Sure, but the argument for removing regulations is sound based on the tenants outlined by the CRA. If risky loans can be made in the name of “equity”, why can’t risky loans be made in the name of economic growth?
The answer is simple. Don’t open the door. Fannie and Freddie shouldn’t have been given the green light for loosening regulations in some cases.
It was. There were high dollar housing developments that went bust. There were business ventures that went bust. I don't know why people believe it was just lower income loans that were the problem.
Many of the loans that sunk never should have either. Many people could have kept their homes if they had been allowed to refinance. What a mess that entire corrupt issue was.
They didn't. Politicians In a very bipartisan way did.
Nope. Democrats and RINOS continue to push for the expansion of the CRA. Efforts to more heavily regulate is met with the typical “racist” remarks from Democrats.

It was born out of bleeding heart liberal, President Carter. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

This isn't complicated.
You just look silly when you do this.
Their name? How many of her are there? And another clear reminder of why Trump won the election............
In America, Gen Z, will be looked back on as the generation where the wheels finally came off the track.

Nope, it is you that looks silly...and ignorant. Republicans would be for removing CRA or at least heavily modifying to limit risk, thereby not greenlighting gov. sponsored perilous loans. Democrats like Maxine Walters are not in agreement because of...you guessed it, racism. Spin it all you would like, but those are the facts.
It was a bipartisan created problem.
How do you identify as something you're not?transmasculine - Assigned female at birth but identifies as a male.

Because these sick leftist sexual perverts try to normalize this shit. They spread this trash to the media. The media spreads it to our kids and our schools.Well, the proper term would be "Gender Identity".
And it goes well beyond "Personality".
But here's the more important question- why do you care? What effect is it having on your life?
OK. Nonbinary = bisexual. I understand that part. But transmasculine is new one. Has anyone figured out what that means?'Oppenheimer' actor comes out as transmasculine and nonbinary
You couldn’t be more wrong.
For example, why do those “racist” white billionaires of professional sports teams hire predominately black players and pay them tens of millions? I’ll give you a hint….$$$$$$. Why are more coaches white. I’ll give you another hint….because there are more qualified white candidates, which is the same reason why there are more black players. The owners want to win because that makes them money. Hiring the best people at each position within their organization gives them a better chance at success. This is the way “greedy” business works. I can’t help it that Democrats are too dim to understand their own hypocrisy on this matter.
