Donald trump's "negatives" and the GOP's future

I was responding to the person who spoke of Trump, perhaps you should take it up with him.

The GOP will take the House, which will give us gridlock the next two years and I am damn happy about that....how about you?

You chose to respond to them did you not? You really need to focus on now, Trump is no longer in office. :dunno:

That's not been determined yet.

You do realize the topic of the thread is Trump, right? And you want to bust my balls for following the topic of the thread but say not one word to the OP?

Yes, you clicked on this thread link because it was a chance to bash Trump supporters, your favorite hobby. :dunno:

And it looks like DeSantis will send him packing, which will be your worst nightmare.

I cannot think of a single Democrat anywhere who would beat DeSantis. Unless some no-name non-woke moderate with uber-charisma (Bill Clinton like) comes out of the woodwork, or a Ross Perot makes an impossible run, DeSantis will be the president for eight fucking years.

I agree
Biden or any Democrat will easily beat Trump. He is that unpopular
Don’t think they would beat DeSantis

Problem for DeSantis is MAGA. Trump will refuse to allow MAGA to support DeSantis if he loses the Primaries

Guess what?
Trump will declare DeSantis cheated and stole the nomination
MAGA will agree

I don't know. A lot of people are starting to like DeSantis. Look what he did in Miami-Dade.

And that will continue to be a boat anchor around the GOP's neck.
Last night should have seen way more gains for Republicans..if not for one man and the candidates he helped move forward.
THAT is the GOP's near term future..unless you show Trump the door.

Trump is gone. Had nothing to do with him. If it did then there are some very disturbed people in this nation. If you were correct we wouldn't have seen Florida go deep red.

It is still the survival of a nation. And we are socialist to communist.

I have followed trump for decades and know several who know him. We all have the same take. Trump is a good patriotic American, a nice guy, and clean.

But

The guy rubs half the people the wrong way. He is arrogant and egotistic and too many times everything is about him, just him, and only him. He also has a temper and is not quite as smart as he says he is. In national politics, that is "toxic."

Trump's attacks on Ron Desantis were grotesquely unprofessional and too much ME ME ME.

Those who hate trump really hate him. REALLY. Trump making the midterms about trump did NOT help the cause. It inspired haters.

Exhibit A of such toxicity was in 2016 with the Latino judge.

How Reagan would have handled it - I respect our judges, but it is fair to say this judge is not a supporter. He and I disagree. I support a border wall. He and the groups he belongs to do not. Perhaps he should recuse himself

Trump - HE's A MEXICAN!!!

Trump did not win in 2016, Hillary lost. Trump won with over 50 negative rating.

In 2020 trump ran a much better election and blew out Biden, and then the cheating happened on a scale we've never seen before.

But trump still has over 50% NEGATIVES

That is toxic

And it will never change

Still leaning DeSantis

He just told Desantis not to run or else. Then he said he knows stuff about Desantis that even his wife doesn't know.

Trump tried this on Obama with his birther detectives.

Trump is going to run another stupid campaign and split the party.

It had EVERYTHING to do with him and the candidates he helped put forth. Last night was a referendum on Donald Trump. Everyone was expecting a huge red wave, an embrace of MAGA and all its candidates, which would have made Trump's announcing his campaign for 2024 more like a coronation. It was going to be epic, a party to remember....but....it all centered on that "red tsunami"....which didn't happen. :auiqs.jpg:

Now, this morning, you have GOP leaders starting to openly question support of Trump.
Donny can't be very happy this morning. :)

No, if it were a referendum, dems would have held the house and the senate but they didn't. They lost the house +15 for Rs and they may lose the senate still.

Republicans need to break their Trump umbilical cord.

Otherwise, Democrats will once again play their TRUMP card
This guy is just another Trump

Candidates like DeSantis, Abbott and Kemp maintained their distance and won Bigly

Trump always has been, still is, and always will be as crooked as a dog's hind leg.

No one has ever considered him to be clean or decent. He was always tabloid grist and nothing more. His biggest success was as a game show host.

It is like I keep saying. 15 years from now, you won't be able to find anyone who admits voting for Crooked Donald.

The candidates he supported and helped put forward..lost for the large part.
Again, last night was Trump's night to say "I told you so"...to the GOP..and that fell flat on its face. :)

It was a vote for more welfare checks.
The Red Districts voted Red and have a smaller population than the Blue Districts.
