DoJ Investigates Bridge Closing. When Are They Going To Investigate Shutdown Closings

The democrats and their media have finally found something that can distract away from the Obama healthcare debacle. :eusa_whistle:

It's a "debacle" that's already saved the government a good deal of money and signed up over 9 million people who previously did not have insurance.

I wonder what you consider a success? The war in Iraq? 4000 Americans dead, over 100K Iraq civilians killed, the Bush administration found to be lying about it and introducing elements of Al Qaeda into the country where there was none before.

Mission Accomplished!

9 million???? Let's have your stats source. How do you know they never had insurance?
Hell, the government doesn't even know how many have paid their premiums.

Saved money for the government? Really? Most that have signed up are the 55 and above category. Major portion are the subsidized.
In other words, the government will either have to subsidize the insurance companies, or the insurance companies are going to have to raise premiums for 2015.
Good yarn you have going there, sonny.

Sure.

Most insurance enrollees older than 45, records show

And even with the "subsidies", it's far cheaper than emergency room care.

Additionally provisions in the ACA have cut out waste and fraud which is a big part of the savings.

So unlike your "success" in Iraq...this is actually showing positive metrics. At least what most of the world considers positive.

When was insurance ever cheap in the individual market for people 55 or over?

I think after the law was passed, some insurance companies cobbled together garbage policies they knew would need to be pulled. And they did it knowing they could blame ObamaCare.

You stated 9 million have signed up that previously didn't have insurance. That's false, unless you're trying to play the semantics game.
When did the government pay for the emergency room care?
Provisions in the ACA for cutting waste and fraud is no more than words on a piece of paper.
Hell, the bill says the IRS is going to oversee the citizens/illegals pay for the insurance, yet they don't have the funds to do that.

About Iraq???? I never thought we should have been there, so don't try and put a label on me because you haven't a clue.

The Republicans blocked the funding of the government for purely political purposes.

Where's your outrage over that?

Congress, in particular the House holds the purse strings under our Consitution. Funding is a legislative matter, and thus political by its nature. They also tried to fund individually anything people wanted such as parks, and monuments, and all sorts of other stuff, but the Democrats refused.

The places shut down by the administration were tailored to maximizing the impact on regular people, and thus make the shudown appear worse than it was. This is as poltiical as it gets, and is retribution not against a party, but the people as a whole.

So it wasn't 'as political as it gets' when the Congress tried to selectively fund certain items that they knew were popular,

in order to manipulate public opinion from their end??

LOL, you're amazingly stupid.

Nope. Some wanted to defund it completely, some wanted to only fund popular items. They wanted to defund the mandates because the mandates caused over 6 million to lose their insurance, so far, and are projected to cause millions more to lose their insurance.

They even agreed to push back the mandates, but Obama said no,......until the cancellation notices started pouring in. Then he called in the media and wanted them to lie and say insurance companies weren't sending out the notices. He wanted to call them renewals.

Its funny progressives throw around "political" as a deragatory term when everything they do or say is as political as it gets.

All the senate had to do was accept the piecemeal funding, and keep fighting on Obamacare. they chose politics over people.

You didn't answer the question. I'll take that to mean the answer is 'yes',

and you lose the argument.

Huh? The point is that there aren't going to be enough of the younger category to pay for the older subsidized category. If that happens, the insurance companies are either going to have to raise premiums (considerably) on everybody, or the government is going to subsidize the insurance companies.

Congress was trying to delay or end a program they didnt like, which currently is a complete failure of a program.

You are accusing congress of being political by using the political process. their job is to pass bills, and budgets. What happened is they passed one you didnt like.

Obama and thier minions went out of thier way to find things they could "cut" that would impact the most people possible, and did it knowing that they didnt have to do a thing. They could keep the monument open and it would have cost them far less than what they had to do to shut them down.

and you dont win ANYTHING, ever. Remember that.

Congress cut EVERYTHING in the discretionary side of the budget when they didn't pass the funding bill.

Guess where we'd be now if the Republicans hadn't caved.

And they have.

Through state insurance, kids of people with insurance and medicare an aggregate number of 9 million people have signed up. It's too bad that the Obama administration is basically just counting website sign ups.

And the government has ALWAYS paid for emergency room care when the patient didn't.

And if the "label" fits..

Maybe fixing our government?

If Christie is taking "full responsibility", he should resign.

The actions were illegal.

He absolutely should resign as soon as Obama does. Obama's lies and actions adversely affected almost everyone in the nation, whereas Christies only affected a small portion of the people in the NY, NJ area.

You certainly don't read your source very well, or you're just being disingenuous.
From your own source:
Julie Bataille, spokeswoman for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, said 3.9 million people have signed up for Medicaid directly through the states, and that some of those enrollments are renewals. Combined with the young people still covered with their parents, that comes to 9 million people enrolled in private plans or Medicaid who may not have had the coverage before the 2010 passage of the Affordable Care Act.

They don't know, they are just taking a "best case scenario" for the obummercare, dude. Wake Up!

Obama is rewriting the LAW as he goes along...and no one will stand up to him and call him out for violating the Constitution.
