Doge reduced warning and response time for the Texas flood.

FEMA provided massive aid where it was needed

FEMA's own assessment shows it often fails to help those most in need. The agency did not respond to follow-up questions about its analyses, including whether it has completed additional income-based analyses since 2019.

Disaster experts and local officials have warned for decades that FEMA's approach to disaster assistance is fundamentally unfair.

"It validates everything we've been saying for years now," says Chauncia Willis, the former emergency manager for Tampa, Fla., and co-founder of the Institute for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Management, a nonprofit organization that advocates for equity in disaster response. "We know there are structural inequities within the system of how FEMA does business — their programs, their policies, their funding."

“Just yesterday, Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency uncovered that FEMA bureaucrats—against the Trump Administration’s wishes—tried to send a $59 million payment to luxury hotels for illegal immigrants in New York City. They had the gall to try to sneak this under our noses. Not anymore,” said Rep. Moore.

Despite its assertions to the contrary, FEMA was obviously unprepared to deal with the housing assistance issues stemming from Hurricane Katrina. Even worse, FEMA acknowledged in April 2007 that it did not have an emergency response plan ready before the 2007 hurricane season, 317 although by July 31 the director stated he believed FEMA was prepared. 318 FEMA's response to the housing problems caused by Katrina was excruciatingly slow, which strained the patience of disaster victims and indeed most Americans. FEMA's erratic behavior and internal bureaucratic debacles were troubling when one considers that the sole reason for the agency's existence is to assist disaster victims in meeting crucial needs.

Shall I keep going? I assure you that I can...

I saw a crawl in CNN's screen during their State of the Union broadcast where they finally acknowledged the many NWS warnings given but are now they are blaming Texan's "Alert Warning Fatigue" for ignoring them.

While there may be some truth in that they just don't give up do they? 😐

So where was all your concern when these happened?

How the Government Is Failing Americans Uprooted by Calamity

“While American citizens from Hawaii to North Carolina suffered, Biden and Mayorkas used FEMA as a piggy bank, spending hundreds of millions of American taxpayer dollars to housing illegal aliens, including at the Roosevelt Hotel that served as a Tren de Aragua base of operations and was used to shelter Laken Riley’s killer.”

Dang Delldude, you beat me to it... :/

Individual Assistance: Help for Households

  • Over 153,000 households in 39 western NC counties (plus the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) have received FEMA aid including:
    • Rental assistance
    • Emergency home repairs
    • Temporary housing (hotel stays, mobile units)
    • Funds for personal property loss and serious needs

  • As of Feb 7, 2025:
    • 2,596 households housed in FEMA-paid hotels (10,648 have checked out)
    • 3,284 families received rental aid
    • 150 households in temporary FEMA housing units
    • 18,000 households received basic repair funds

  • FEMA has also provided $422 million directly to households, and allocated $372 million through February. Yet, many survivors report being underpaid and are appealing

In reality the Biden era FEMA got exposed for intentionally withholding assistance to areas which was populated by mostly Trump voters.

There were communities that had still received no aid until Trump took over.
