Was reckoning my time and realized I haven't written in cursive for a long time over ten years I think. I use the computer to do any writing. Writing in cursive is faster no? that's why we learn it. But should it be stepped down in schools to typing ?

Yes. I have to take continuing ED to maintain licences. I use cursive to take notes.

Have you middle schooler take cursive, calligraphy, and graphic arts.

Your child then goes to uni and becomes an archivist or librarian. Same in grad school.

He or she will have quiet, normal well-paying employment for life.

I use cursive to write notes to my kids that my wife can't read.

There's a certain art in having the ability to make beautiful writing. Sometimes I just write in cursive because it looks aesthetically pretty.
Some of the cursive I have seen in English, French, and Spanish from 1800 to the 1970s have been beautiful.

Students should use cursive; it has been shown to increase learning and aid in memorizing and improves language skills and concentration.
